Zhang-Hrgovic might happen, Zhang is old and wont get his mandatory chance, nither will Hrgovic. In case Fury decides to not go Chinese route, this match is likley to happen. Who wins?
Hrgovic is winner of first fight dude. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Faorp9SWYAAGq56?format=jpg&name=large He outlanded Zhang in 9 of 12 rounds. In boxing new round=new story. Its doesnt matter that Filip have big problem in some moments- he throw more punches and land more punches. He was winner. Reematch? I dont belive it happend. Both got great position and they dont need risk again before titlle fight. But if it happend I choose Filip for win. He always be the busier od that 2 and he probably can improve more than old Zhang.
I like Zhang, but he is too dangerous to fight Hrgovic again, Zhang wins by TKO between the 6th and 8th rounds...
While I agree with you that punches landed is the most important metric, it is not the only one. Categories such as "effective aggression," and "clean, hard punching" are also scored, as is defense. Look, I wa one of those adamant that Zhang won, and once I saw the punch-count...I agree that it is plausible to say that Hrgovic won. I don't have a problem with the decision. Most still feel Zhang won. It is what it is.
That's not the only thing that matters. Damage inflicted is important too. If one guy lands 10 shots that have no effect and the other guy lands 5 hard shots that all do damage, who would you give the round to? Also, considering the knockdown in round 1 and the 3 rounds in which Zhang outlanded Hrgovic (with harder shots), he would only need 1 more round to make it a draw. In round 4 and 5 Hrgovic outlanded Zhang by a few punches but again, Zhang did way more damage. I thought Zhang won those rounds pretty clearly. So there you go, decision win for Zhang.
This is pretty much how I saw the fight. I had Zhang winning 1, 3-6 and 9. 6 rounds to 6 rounds, which with the knockdown made it 114-113 on my card. 4 and 5 did gave Hrgovic landing more but not by a significant enough margin to drown out the fact that Zhang was controlling the ring those rounds and landing the cleaner and more effective punches. That being said, Hrgovic winning isn't a robbery by any means. It's one of those fights where either guy walking away with his arm raised was perfectly acceptable. I was disappointed with the decision, but it was fair enough. Also even though I wanted him to lose, I gotta admit him staying upright after the absolute onslaught Zhang threw in round 6 was mighty impressive. Dude has a good chin if nothing else.
Damn it. Smth go wrong with my last respond soo I will answer here to all. Effective agression, defence and other. I know about it but it always be "second category" help way to judge fight. Why? Because nobody should win fight because defence and agression special when it cant help You land more. Its most important. The Wizard U said if guy land 10 shots no effect and other 5 with effect who u give round. Off course first dude. U cant give someone decision because his shots was "harded". In boxing premium for punching power is enough (knockdown, knockout and other). End of the day Your proposition will make harder puncher or stronger chin dude win just because they dont feel punch... Soo Wach should win with Klitschko? Because he feel no pain? No. U cant win fight landing half punch that other dude because u do more damage. Zhang got iron chin just like Hrgovic but on him shoots dont do soo "damage" but its not how u score fight in boxing. If IT will be about "damage" Wilder will win with Fury. In Polish site there was one magican who try proof that Wilder was better by scoring his punches like 1,5 half and Furys like 1 or 0,75... Because he do more damage........ And one thing. If we try to score it properly we should not score knockdown for Zhang. It was illegal punch with forearm in back of the head. No one should call it knockdown. That also should be notice if someone try score it "proper" way".
If Zhang doesn't stop Joyce there's a very good chance he gets robbed. UK fighters have to be beaten twice and often by stoppage. Let's not forget Uysk only edged AJ on points in the rematch, he was being setup for the rob. Joyce probably just has to avoid the stoppage and walk forward a bit throwing some jabs and he can win.
Hrgo would jab his head off like Joshua did. The samé with Joshua vs Ruiz 3... not a chance for Ruiz. Ruiz has a chance to bang off Wilder or similar clown.
