Usyk in the 1970s. Everyone knows that Usyk is the best heavyweight of his era, but how would he fare against fighters like Ali, Frazier, Foreman, Holmes, Norton, Young, Quarry, and Bonavena? How many of them does he defeat?

    He'd be right in it.

He'd beat Foreman, who was great, but struggles against movers and would not beat a southpaw mover with an iron chin and enormous stamina. Just a bad style match-up for George.

Frazier would be tougher because of the pressure, but Frazier lacked the southpaw killing right hand.

Ali...well, that is the fight, isn't it?

would just like to point out that the best heavyweight southpaw any of these guys faced was…Karl Mildenberger

The 70’s Ali would probably lose due to footwork however the Ali from the 60’s with his insane stamina would probably outwork Usyk in a close tight fight

Other great fights would be Norton who if you couldn’t stop can give you huge problems and Holmes who would win most of the early rounds with his superior jab and skills but when Usyk makes some adjustments he would win most of the latter rounds

Another great comparison is Usyk in the 90’s against Tyson, Holyfield, Bowe and Lewis this would be a much tougher line up for Usyks style

Usyk would have toyed with Young, Quarry, and Bonavena.

I think Ali and Holmes probably get him in tough fights, but I’d favor Usyk over the rest except maybe Frazier - I just have a hard time envisioning that fight at all, I cant recall anyone ever trying to smother Usyk and stay in his chest - at least not in the way that he would.

Chisora tried it and actually won some rounds and made Usyk uncomfortable at moments or at least pressured effectively. Obviously Frazier was another galaxy of pressure, footwork and skill.

Holmes and Ali are the only guys i'd favour over him because of their speed and length. Frazier would have been interesting too with his pressure and Usyks perceived weakness to the body, and Norton might have been a problem.

He beats all 70s guys, only question would be 66' Ali.

What was usyks toughest fight till today?

Clearly breidies who was a 6.1 200 pounds cruiser with brutal power, stamina, toughness, chin and speed.

So that means an ali and Holmes would be stylewise very interesting against usyk especially if they are fast and have a great jab.
+ wlad and Lewis, because they were gigantic with atg jabs and atg power. Everyone else has no chance and the 4 above guys are 50-50 fights.

Usyk is plain and simple an atg, the goat at cruiser and imo top 3 at heavy all time and p4p top 10 all time

Usyk in his 70s? I think he will be retired by then.

He's already pushing it at 37.

I don't think anyone toils with Prime Young.

He beats Bonavena and has a good fight with Quarry which he most likely wins.

You guys keep in mind Usyk is already 37. He's at the end of his career and past his physical peak.

Ali was drooling in a cup by then. Frazier retired at 32. Riddick Bowe retired at 28.

That Usyk was able to move to HW so late in his career and do very well at it is an amazing accomplishment. He still looks to me like a guy fighting above his natural weight though.
