Usyk is easily the better p4p package of the two. However Fury is a skilled SHW with a lot more pounds. He is fundamentally a different proposition to AJ. This fight hinges completely on how Fury comes in. If he's managed to regain his old best form fior one last roll of the dice, then Usyk is in for the fight of his life. I've said before that I'm not sure if Usyk is able to beat 'best' Fury. If Fury is along the lines of the form he's been lately, then he's going to be embarrassed and thoroughly whipped.
Truth is all depends on how Usyk will deal with cutting distance. All sign on Earth suggest that Fury cut weight and give himself time needed to adaptation to this. Soo he will be much quicker and more movement than he was in long time. That's for sure will be problem for Oleksander. I still belive that Usyk will be quicker but with that size difference and Reach advantage Fury can make it very difficult for Usyk. Fury with speed level from last fights will be very easy to catch (he can avoid Ngannou, Chisora, fat Wilder and Whyte and must often clinch) but he for sure understand that his problem and fix it. We will see how much this years cost him. Closer to fight I afraid more and more that Usyk lose few first round trying finding the way to cut distance and dont get hit too much by long Furys jab. Then when he find way (I guess when genius like Usyk with full focus can do this) there will be another huge problem- clinching. For sure judge and reffery will be on Tyson side. Plans for Joshua vs Fury is on their mind. Im worried that Usyk can lost it on points in ugly fight because I dont think Tyson when he will be in his distance will try change punches with him. He will be do all to comeback for long distance. Hope Im wrong. Usyk win is smth bigger for me. And I wish we have King like Usyk not Fury. But time will show. End of the day Fury got very hard time vs southpaw in his carrer and same with quick opponents. There is Hope
They already have the excuse made, he can only beat him if he's not 100%. Guess they can't use the age excuse now cos usyk is older. For me, this is an interesting fight and will be extremely satisfied if the fight happens irrespective of the winner. 50-50 fight IMO
We all saw Cunningham, Wallin, McDermott did to Fury. Fury is aware of it and ducked Usyk 3 times so far. I don't think he will fight Usyk on May 18th.
An in shape Focused Fury is a tough man to beat. But, will Fury be in shape and focused? I still like Usky, regardless of Fury's condition. The fight will just be a little closer.
I mean what else can Usyk do apart from just moving around and peppering Fury. Fury simply has more ways to win. He could potentially outbox him with his long reach and jab or he can rough him up on the inside. He can also switch stances seamlessly. Just seems Fury has more to offer in this fight.
I would say unfortunately it seems more nailed on Joshua beats Fury, at least how he has looked lately. One of my mates, the Geordie Drago Steve Robinson who's been out sparring Usyk quite a bit told me he's seen Usyk put over twice with body shots and fancy Fury to do a job on him. I think Usyk's glaring weakness is a bit too obvious and Fury is big and quite clever and will be properly prepared for this.
It's definitely a 50/50 fight and I want Usyk to win it, but Fury is a different beast to AJ. It'll likely go to Usyk by points or to Fury by TKO with body shots. Usyk isn't knocking Fury out unless he suddenly starts hitting as hard as Wilder. It's gonna be a great fight.
I genuinely believe it will be, yes. In terms of stylistic matchups, Fury might be one of the easiest heavyweight fights in Usyk's career. He embodies everything Fury has historically struggled with in the ring. Usyk has faced harder-hitting and more skilled punchers like Dubois and Joshua. Also, Fury's combinations are neither as crisp nor as fast as Joshua's. Joshua also has better balance than Fury. When Usyk stated last year that he didn't just believe he would beat Fury, but knew he would do so easily, he wasn’t joking. That’s the thing with him: Usyk doesn’t make statements lightly, especially regarding upcoming fights. It’s particularly troubling for Fury that Usyk avoids engaging in trash talk and mind games. So yes, I fully expect Usyk to beat Fury with such ease that it will undoubtedly shock many.
AJ is a big stiff idiot. He is lumbersome, Not fluid. No gas. No chin. No heart. No nothing. Doesn't know how to impose his size. Useless up close. Doesn't know how to clinch or roughhouse. He hit Usyk with good bodyshots then reset and talked with Usyk who was complaining like a girl. Fury isn't going to reset he's going to grind you down in till you jack it.
A fit and focused Fury is an elite level technician with good range and movement. If Fury is at his best which I expect him to be, Usyk will be in for a long night.
I can't take anyone seriously who says Joshua is 'useless up close'. Plus, it's no coincidence Fury has been ducking him since 2018. He had the chance to fight Joshua but chose the easier Wilder route for a reason. Over the last 24 months, Fury fought an over-the-hill Chisora and an MMA fighter who knocked him down. Usyk is 37 but much closer to his prime than Fury at this point. Fury struggled against Cunningham ten years ago; of course, he is wary of Usyk, who is an even worse matchup for him now, especially since his legs are all but gone compared to his 2013-2015 form. He still looks a good mover against the Whytes and Chisoras of the world but that won't cut the mustard against Usyk who is still faster on his feet now than even the fastest version of Fury. It's all about size but not the way Fury thinks. A smaller guy will inherently have faster and better coordinated legs, especially someone like Usyk who takes his training seriously. Currently, Fury ranks a distant third behind Usyk and Joshua, and it will show next Saturday when Fury will look clumsy, slow and uncoordinated in the ring next to Usyk. I also believe Joshua will beat him up if they indeed face each other in September. That fight is long overdue. However, after losing to Usyk, Fury probably wants to at least establish himself as the best British heavyweight of this era. Or at least I hope that’s what he’ll do after the Usyk loss because I want to see Joshua beat him too. But who knows with Fury; he might just retire on the spot after Usyk takes the WBC strap off him.
