Check out Usyk's fight against Nistor in the WSB. He's a bigger, faster, more aggressive, much harder hitter southpaw swarmer/slugger who isn't solely capable of fighting in straight lines like Huck and posed way more trouble than Marco would. Usyk had a reasonably hard time but clearly beat him.

Watch the WSB fights his power was more than enough to get respect from SHW's and he faced:

Joyce - 6'6 240lbs - Olympic Silver Medalist (should have been gold)
Medzhidov - 6'3 240lbs - Two time World Amateur Champion
Fa - 6'6 250 - Beat Joseph Parker at least twice
Nistor - 6'1 220ish - Stopped Joshua, robbed vs Olympic Champ Yoka in WSB, APB HW Champ
Modugno - 6'7 270 - (TKO win) was supposed to face Chisora a couple years ago but fell through due to injury

Add to the fact the top big men in Fury, Joshua, Wilder aren't known to have Ray Mercer'esque chins and i think he would manage fine which he has already proved, just not over 12 yet.

 

Good stuff, Vysotskyy. I've seen that fight and rate Nistor (been on the Usyk bandwagon for awhile) and while Nistor is the more complete package, it was the combination of Usyk never being past 9 rounds combined with Huck's rough housing style that led me to think there may be some issues with pacing in the early to mid range parts of the fight before he'd adapt and control the latter part of the fight.

Oh were you solely taking about Huck as the opponent in his first title effort with no 12 round experience? Even so, i see what you're getting at but Huck typically only does 5 or 6 caveman rushes, in a busy round, and it's always in straight lines. With Usyk's size and lateral movement i think maintaining distance and avoiding the bull rushes would be quite easy for him with Huck rarely being able to get on the inside to even attempt rough housing.

Also, unlike Glowacki, Huck uses that high guard and is a none threat in terms of counter punching which was the only thing giving Usyk pause for thought. I honestly think he would be hitting him at will and would possibly get the stoppage. Huck also hates it to the body and Usyk would gut him there.

Usyk boxed. He used his jab, circled Glowacki, landed body shots, more jabs and threw quick combos and moved away. Glowacki lost a clear UD.
