Based on what? The shots that got Wallin were all short hooks. Wilder can't physically throw those without his brain exploding. Actually I wouldn't be surprised if Wallin outpoints him like Parker did. His jab would keep Wilder shelled up and hesitant to throw.
Based on the fact that Wallin isn't a good fighter and was eating plenty of right hands. Wallin ain't out pointing Wilder if he can't take AJ to points.
Wlad was 3 month to 40. I just googled to confirm. Also, he was number one solely based on his past accomplishments. He performed poorly in his last few fights and deteriorated a lot.
He beat Pulev with ease, who at the time was the top contender if i am not mistaken. It was a weak moment in the division tho. And Jennings was a top 10 contender whom Wlad had no issues dealing with. I know he was old and it showed, but he was still THE champion and defending his belts against credible opposition. No matter how you spin it, Hrgovich hasn´t done anything remotely close to that. He is just a contender in his prime who has beaten a single top 10 opponent. And an old one at that, since you like to bring up Wlad´s age.
Wlad didn't look good vs Jennings. Also, Jennings was knocked out shortly after fighting Klitschko and never accomplished anything. In Pulev fight Wlad was sloppy as well.
Oh FFS, you can play this game with anyone. Just start picking apart everything. Jennings took constant step ups in competition and beat the following: Siarhei Liakhovich, Bowie Tupou, Andrey Fedosov, Artur Szpilka and he capped it off with Mike Perez. It was a good run that put him in the top 10. He didn´t necessarily earn his title shot but Wladimir signed a deal with HBO and Jennings was at the right place at the right time. Jennings then took some time off and started rebuilding himself. Unfortunately he lost a razor close fight to Oscar Rivas and then got bested by Joyce. No shame in loosing to those guys and he performed admirably. In the end, I simply disagree. And even if you are 100% correct and Wladimir was just barely hanging on, it doesn´t change the fact that he achieved way more than Hrgovic has to date. Where are Hrgovic´s Pulev and Jennings? He barely scraped by Zhang, which many debate til today, and beat... um, Demsey McKean?
No Usyk is not Lineal, he's fought Witherspoon Chisora AJ x 2 Dubios 5 fights at Heavyweight ffs If he beats Fury he is... I love how people are crowning Usyk already lol
So, Fury's most significant victory was against an opponent who would turn 40 in three months. Ok.....
Yeah because Wilder is anything close to AJ in terms of Boxing ability. Sorry to tell you, but Wilder just ducked his comeback to the big scene fight > Zhang. Wilder couldn't win a single round against Parker. And his right hand is as myth, as his chin. Both are overrated. Wilder ain't KOin Wallin.
Usyk is lineal, imo. Which actually is the problem because it's an opinion. But there's two schools of thought here and luckily we'll have a defining answer. One school of thought Jeffries was defending champ Vs Johnson, Louis was defending champ Vs Charles, Ali was defending champ Vs Holmes and Fury is defending champ Vs Usyk. Second school Johnson was defending champ Vs Jeffries, Charles was defending champ Vs Louis, Holmes was defending champ Vs Ali and Usyk is defending champ Vs Fury. Ultimately for me the question is all about Tommy Burns and Marvin Hart. If they're seen as former world champions, Usyk is the current world champion. If they aren't he isn't.
