Lest we forget in the Dubois fight he was KO'd but the Ref gave him some homecooking. He isn't an ATG heavyweight.

If that's the case he should retire after Fury 2. A third fight with AJ doesn't feel necessary.

There’s zero point in fighting AJ again. None. If he beats Fury a second time what else does he have to prove? He would have beat essentially the #1 and #2 guys twice. Has anyone else ever done that? The idea that Usyk is ducking the other contenders after dispatching of Fury and AJ is absolutely laughable and absurd.

 no fighters on planet earth have received more ‘home cooking’ than UK based fighters.

No more AJ. 0 interest. I'd rather see him against a Bakole or Zhang.

Calling Fury mediocre is a bit harsh. He had been the near-consensus best heavyweight in the world for years, and he would be competitive on his day against a lot of heavyweights of the past.

    He’s a top 20 H2H HW of all-time, maybe higher, I wouldn’t say that’s mediocre.

He is, when it comes to great HW of any era. That does not mean that he is bad boxer, it's just he was never proven at highest level.

How can Usyk be that great, when he never beat the great boxer at HW ? why such low standards ?

Usyk is the #1-2 best cruiserweight of all time, a top 20ish heavyweight of all time, the best fighter in two weight classes of an era, and the best fighter P4P of an era.

His legacy is great without being the best heavyweight ever.. He’s probably my favorite active fighter, but I don’t feel the need to put him beside Ali or even Wladimir Klitschko as a heavyweight… he’s a great fighter in his own right.

You sure ? or it was politics that put these brits at top ?

anyway, weak era of HW boxing, but still, they could do better. There are a lot of names that media don't hype, but they can do better than these so called "champions"

I knew this was going to happen. Western boxing audience cannot tolerate a man from the East beating their best fighters. They're trying to belittle his success.

To add to my post above:

Yes IMO wins over a Bakole, Zhang, and even Parker, etc, would add to his legacy… Not because they’re greater fighters - but because this is BOXING. Each different fighter presents a whole different set of issues, and beyond that, each additional fight presents more chances for either fighter to have a plethora of things derail or improve them both in and outside the fight, leading up to, or during the fight…. This is why longevity should be valued - and as someone who boxed for more than a decade, I sympathize with how many things in life can really get in the way as a fighter, both things related to boxing and unrelated - and as fans we often take these things for granted.

Rematch clauses have held the title captive for several years now, limiting deserving contenders opportunity to challenge for the title.

Heavyweight history has seen several champions win the title, then they and their management control who they wish to defend it against, or indeed put the title in cold storage.

It shames and depresses me to admit that I agree with all of the above.

Of course not. And people cried about Hatton and Mayweather holding in their fight. Did they not watch the Tszyu fight when Hatton won the belt? He could've kicked Tszyu in his nuts if he wanted.
