I felt like his cardio was still great. While this fight was a little closer than the first one, I think it had more to do with AJ fighting better all-around, as opposed to regression from Usyk.
He is on the decline since Gassiev fight. He had 350+ amateur matches, let's be real this is taken it's toll. Just look at him at WSB and WBSS. HE was so sharp and he just can't get tired at that point. Now it's different, but let's not forget they fought in the Saudi in 35+ degree.
He just didn't look as sharp and crispy as he did in the first fight to me. The range bothered him at times but he still performed great and, as I keep saying, it's super impressive for a way smaller fighter to beat AJ because he's fast for a giant and he punches very hard against opponents his own size
Yeah, but we also have to take into account what happen with Usyk, where he was been, and he literally have like 4 months to train, while AJ had like a full year to prepare. AJ is no slouch as well, he is an elite fighter and obviously was going to learn from the defeat and make adjustment. Let's not forget AJ schooled Ruiz 12-0, when Ruiz TKO him badly. AJ is a smart fighter, and he is a top notch boxer and have top notch power as well, but Usyk still school him 10-2 or 9-3. That speaks for itself of how great as a fighter Usyk is. Usyk manager on the press before the fight actually said that Usyk is swimming 10km. and it's keeping his breath underwater for 4:30+ minutes. Usyk also sparred 5 minutes round for 12 rounds on super high pressure. Again people on here underrate AJ, he is a great fighter, and beating him twice by 9-3 and 10-2/9-3 is an absolutely incredible achievement.
Fury didn't look very good in his last fight, was quite a sloppy performance, and Fury is 34 himself.
He is a f***** statue. It's one thing to move and throw shots, and do it on the highest possible level, and fighting D level opponents and being a statue, and no one puts pressure on you.
To be fair i disagree with all 3 scorecards. This fight should be 9-3 or 10-2, at worst 8-4, nothing else. Both 115-113 scorecards were utter garbage and a insult to every single fan of boxing.
This is true. I've been a big fan of his since the 2008 Olympics and I actually like the WSB version of him best at HW or SHW in the ams. He was razor sharp and fast and his reaction times so quick
AJ fought differently. Usyk was not able to tee off on him as much. Still won clearly. I didn’t see much decline but at his age, there will be some.
Maybe only slightly but hes the best fighter in the division and hopefully he gets the chance to prove it against Fury. Im tired of all this Retire talk from Fury everytime theres a solid rival in the division.
I didn't notice much in the way of a decline, the body shots were fairly effective against Usyk. Beterbiev put him down with one in the amateurs. The only other thing was that it took him a few rounds to really get into gear, some of that was strategic.
