Usyk is soft to the body AJ should invest there

Especially someone as telegraphed as Joshua.

Usyk is a mover so it would make sense, but can AJ set them up or will they be telegraphed like Wilder against Fury in the third fight? Wilder hit Tyson with some solid body shots but Fury saw them coming and absorbed them easily. I think for AJ to have any chance at all he needs to let his hands go in combination, stop trying to be perfect and use his size and weight to his advantage. Unfortunately AJ seems to shrink in the clinches and fights small for a big man and he's muscle bound and has stamina issues because of it. He'll have to fight the last 30 seconds of every round or risk gassing. AJ also needs a plan B and C. So many things stacked against AJ I have a hard time realistically seeing a rout to victory for him.

AJ is almost certain to get KOd if he focuses on the body. He lacks the flexibility to go downstairs against a smaller man, nor is he an inside fighter.

Peter Fury made a great point. Joshua needs to throw combinations to head and body but mix the hardness of the shots up. The first 2 punches make 'em light and then BOOM with the 3rd, for example. If he doesn't do that Usyk will read him all night long.

Targeting the body doesn't mean he's going to try and KO him with a bodyshot. It's more about a) it's a bigger target than the head and b) to try and slow Usyk down so he then becomes easier to hit to the head, or drops his hands to protect the body etc.

Lewis got KO'd by a bodyshot in the ams. If Usyk had been KO'd by a bodyshot in the ams imagine how many people would be saying he had a glass body (and there are quite a few now lol).

You need to be able to whip Usyk up the body when he is ring circling. Think AJ might be too static to do that.

See how Fury could whip bodyshots on Whyte from halfway across the ring...

ultimately AJ should go for a trade scenario, which should work out fine as long as he isn't tired. Usyk needs AJ to be tired to stop him...

AJ is going to pressure from the get go and will be blown by round 6 if he can't pin Usyk. If he gets wobbled by straight lefts then should retire.

Arreola may hate body shots in particular and neither Vitali or Wilder were prolific body punchers. Stiverne was though, so that says something.

Gassiev landed 35 body shots on Usyk and 41 on Lebedev, who he dropped with a body shot. Chisora by contrast landed 78 body shots on Usyk.

Even though Gassiev's body shots are almost certainly harder than Chisora's, he was nowhere near as prolific as Chisora in landing to the body.

Usyk is vastly superior to Whyte. Usyk would clown Fury....
With that being said Joshua can invest as much as he likes it means little if he can't hit the target....

No prime Usyk is a 200 pound man.

He even looks old and bulky at 220.

Unified champ at Heavy would say otherwise.....I like Fury a lot but the over rating on here is ridiculous he's not proven anywhere near enough to be in the conversation for GOAT.

Usyk weighed in at 212 lbs without trousers against Joyce in the 2013 WSB before he even turned pro. Your body tends to gain a bit of weight naturally as it matures so the 2018 Usyk who fought Gassiev was probably a natural 215 lbs without weight cutting. Usyk also said years ago in an interview that when he moved up to HW he would fight at 100KG, which is exactly what he is now. Usyk hasn't been a natural 200 lbs man since he was 22 years old, still in the middle of his amateur career.
