Yes, but at CW he never fought a fighter like Usyk and Gassiev and Beldris would give prime holyfield at CW some fits. Like I said, it's 50/50.
Better boxer is a broad term. P4P, maybe Uysk is the better boxer if you wanted to completely discredit Lewis' fantastic resume. If you think that Uysk that just fought tonight would have a sniff against Lewis, then you're beyond help
I like Nelson too, I'll still go back & watch some of his fights as someone outside the uk Fantastic out boxer but had to learn on the job. Lack volume, wasn't as defensively sound & worked the ropes too much in some fights. Think Nelson was inferior to Usyk. irrelevant but can't remember when Nelson fought was it 190 cruiser?
it is 50/50 but you said Usyk would beat CW prime Holyfield like Lewis beat a past prime Holyfield which really has no correlation with one another. And Holyfield would probably stop both Breides and Gassiev especially if he didn't take risks against Holyfield like he didnt against Usyk.
We have a gorilla rider and a goat cruiser.... Maybe they should organize a race. But yes, Usyk cruises around on a goat for sure.
Usyk has overtaken Holyfield as greatest CW in history. Usyk Champion in 10th fight, Undisputed in 15th Gassiev, Briedis, Glowacki, Huck, Mchunu, Hunter Edit - Oh and it's all been done on the road in Poland, Germany, Latvia and Russia. F'ing Legend. Holyfield Champion in 12th fight, Undisputed in 18th Qawi x2, De Leon, Ocasio, Parkey, Tillman, Mutti (coming off KO loss)
No, but he has the potential to be. He's already more skilled than Holyfield, but he lacks that pop and explosiveness that Holy had, and which enabled him to compete against men much larger than himself. Usyk's no midget himself, of course, and his footwork and herky jerky style might be even more effective against the big men than Holy's rampaging bulldog act, and I think H2H he'd beat Holy as well. He just needs to build up the resume, and it's already very impressive.
I actually wasn't aware of those statistics. That's actually very impressive, and makes me alter my initial thoughts. I believe Holyfield's HW reign colours his CW one for me.
