Usyk also said he was injured to give organizers enough time to find a new venue for the WBSS finals. He also said he would not fight in Russia. He also said he was his own trainer when actually Anatoly Lomachenko was in his camp training him.
He said today that it will be Whyte or Chisora. Maybe he's heard the Usyk fight is a no-goer now. I doubt he was lying as Usyk is a much, much better opponent than Whyte.

Usyk said his top priority is to fight Joshua and become HW champion of the world . He said he wouldn't jump straight into it but money talks. If the fights there with big money he'll fight of not he wont in April. Warren was just covering his tracks and diverting attention off himselve bc he knew he could take free digs at Hearn ducking Wilder and Fury because he knows he stipulated a rematch clause with Wilder so any Joshua fight with Wilder or Fury isn't possible . It might be even simpler. Usyk is now in a "forget about boxing" mode. In his own words, he's doing nothing, doesn't train at all now. And all the negotiations (if any, of course) are done between Hearn and Krassyuk (K2 Ukraine CEO). And then, let's say in a couple of weeks, Krassyuk wil say something like this to Usyk: "hey, listen, they are offering us this and that... This is a very good opportunity... blah-blah-blah... ".
