Basically. Although I'd add his lack of size AND power doom him. One or the other has a track record of success at HW. Lacking both is a tough hole to crawl out of.

i think if he sat down on his punches and wasn't constantly moving, the amount of KOs he gets would go up

If Usyk had no power Joyce, Gassiev & several other Heavy KO clean power punchers should have already walked through him.

Usyk has speed & power Abel told Gassiev "you better show me something!!"

The fact is if they go for broke they will get countered & stunted

Paulie ****ing Malignaggi stopped guys in their tracks with his damn jab.

The whole notion of "walking through" someones punches is BS. Especially at the p4p level. Look how stuck Gassiev and Glowacki were when Usyk would just pepper them with arm punches.

It's the sweet science for a reason.

I actually think Usyk hits harder than Byrd and is definitely a better fighter.

Usyk makes up for the lack of power with his handspeed and movement. The downfall for Usyk at the top level of heavyweight is going to be having to be at 100% every fight. He could afford to be a bit sloppy against Breidis, but make a mistake against the likes of Joshua and Wilder and they can make you pay.

You don't need to have KO power to keep guys honest. Usyk might not stun you with any one shot, but he constantly peppers you from all angles, and does so without giving you an opportunity to breathe or fire back. Shots like that sting and blind and disorientate you, among other things, and the mere fact of having a fist in your face prevents you from setting your feet or throwing shots the way you normally throw them.

Plus, Usyk can punch harder than he shows. He just chooses to emphasise volume and speed over power. Watch him in the WSB and he catches a number of guys with some meaty shots. I suspect all of his opponents of late have felt something of that power lurking in his "pitty pat" punches.

He doesn't 'lack power' he is no Malignaggi type.

He has power, just not massive power.

He throws more shots than anyone and his punches have an accumalative effect. He stops most guys late unless they have a granite chin. Even granite chnned Marco Huck he stopped.

Its not a problem. Unless you are a biased hater wishing for him to fail and looking for straws

Usyk is an elite talent who cannot be outboxed. I would not be betting against him against anyone. Him and Lomachenko are gonna be making the haters like Inferno0121 depressed for many years!

Shades of Ali Fury nearly beat Parker with very little power. Good movement can take you a long way - and there's no better mover than Usyk who is also supremely fit and has decent power.

However he may struggle with height against a tall HW with a very good jab - Joshua, fit Tyson Fury a d maybe Windmill (who does have a v long reach)

Typical casual talk. Chris Byrd was a monster puncher right? No he wasn't at all yet he won a heavyweight title twice.

As if Joyce was a fully mature prime heavyweight when they fought. Everything doesn't stay equal as time goes by. Many Western fighters actually get better and more powerful, when they no longer have to cut to 205, or 200 lbs for the amateur events.

You people are hypocrites, first it was all about the sweet science, now it’s about power and size.

You people change your perspective everytime somebody you dislike comes around.
