You're not taking account of all the top cruisers who have fallen by the wayside: before Usyk they'd all been bashed up at elite SHW level.

A hard-chinned plodder like Kevin Johnson will inevitably struggle more with fast cruisers than slow heavies. Give him a fast heavy and it's the same result.
