I am not to sure if usyk will have any succes in hw eventhough i really like him. Guys like haye where just so cut at cw they barely made weight.
Impressive hand to eye coordination, but did we really need to see that stuff at the end of the video? If Usyk can win a belt, there is a large minority group of North American Boxing writers, who really don't like Eastern European heavyweights that will be embracing him! Why? They desperately want to say someone 210-215 lbs or smaller can beat the super heavyweight of today. AKA the USA heavyweights of old. You could say Holyfield, who's 1-4 vs. Bowe and Lewis on fair score cards and 1-1 vs. Moorer did it, but the PED's make the argument a bit dicey. He did not do well vs big fighters in shape with skills.
Interview with HW prospect Fabio Wardly who has been in camp with Usyk a couple of times and just recently Says Usyk looks like he's put on a bit of weight but that his style and punch output is still the same and his punches feel a bit heavier. 52:10 mark https://player.fm/series/ringside-t...olla-v-lomachenko-and-coaching-spencer-fearon Wardly seems like a nice guy but he's managed by Dillian Whyte so I feel it's a bit naive of Usyk to have him in camp with him taking notes when Whyte is a potential opponent of his.
"big" as in the same small hw like Ali. Who, may I add I just watched her beaten up by Norton in 73' who had NOTHING but a very slow telegraphed lefthook from forever away. That landing says more about Ali than Norton. All these yesteryear fighters are so pathetically over rated its laughable Imagine wlad, Aj or Dw landed their money shots round after round Ali would had died decades earlier
Amen. Hw of the 20th was a joke. boxing was just so monopolized by the usa. It only took about 15 years after the fall of the ussr to completly blast the hw scene of amerika. Nostalgics of course are going to say that there was no talent during that time.
My thoughts too. I've said before that imo the best light heavies of today would beat Ali and other overrated classics.
I could live with 0-4-1 I meet Bowe and spoke to him at a lunch for 30 minutes. He thinks the fight was a draw and says his friend Holyfield does too.
We can always rely on you for a bit of comedy. Only a huge Norton fan would want to watch that fight. What makes you think that those guys would have landed their money shots on Ali? Or can we only choose a faded version to make you happy? You must be praying that Usyk fails.
Why are people comparing Usyk to who Holyfield fought ? Being CW has nothing to do with whos actually here and its a VERY tough set of guys to get by. The only real threat as far as easily favorite to win right away is Joshua. Others MAY pose trouble IDK ? 1. Joyce ...Hes Joshua's biggest threat ( wheather ppl like it or not) Usyk matches well with him due to rare style clash where it actually does come into play. it would be a crazy fight now. Would have to really see how Usyk looks against pressure fighters. 2. Povetkin. another guy who can arguabley knock Usyk out due to crisp compact punching and a true opower puncher but what does he have left ? After AJ ,no one knows. 3. Whyte . Can cause problems for Usyk he has reach and size and can really make fighters frustrated because he is very capable iof making guys come to him or vice versa ,also is a southpaw as well as Orthodox so knows the angles. 4. Fury . A larger version of usyk but on the back foot can really frustrate Usyk to a decision win over him I think. Maybe rthe second worst guy for a Usyk. 5. Hrgovic. Basically a Vitali Klitschko clone with less power . These are the 5 most dangerous to a Usyk outside Joshua for the immediate future. The rest ? Ortiz / Parker / Wilder / Miller/ Ruiz/ Pulev / these types he will defeat for sure. Breazeale ? Im going to hold judgement here until after the Wilder fight. But Usyk does also pick guys like this apart as well.
