If he wins, he cleared out his division. Like @KiwiMan mentioned there would be nothing left to do at CW, so moving up to the HW division is a must. I also think he'd have some success but OP IS right about one thing, getting hit by heavys is a whole different story.

@uppercut_to_the_body basically your opinion is based on the size and power of Joshua and Wilder and that's it. Maybe you are right, maybe you are not. I hope we will find out someday.

Who else would you really guys think can beat the top3 cruisers right now? Except for Joshua and Wilder. ( Probably one of them losing his title and will be exposed before he faces someone among the CWs )

Exactly. Better to lose trying than not to try at all. Personally I think Usyk has a decent chance, he'd beat the guy in my avatar for a start.

Ortiz could still be tricky, I guess we see where he's at against Wilder. He's got the size and skills at least.

Parker might be able to beat Gassiev as he's faster but is an underdog vs Briedis and a huge underdog against Usyk.

Weightclasses exist to keep The heavyweights away from Usyk.

You might be right about Joshua, but it's still a very interesting fight and one I'd watch.

Yeah Idk why I mentioned Gassiev, I can say more about him after next week. He looked really impressing against Lebedev, BUT Lebedev is not that young anymore. About Ortiz, I was never high on him, he has some stamina issues and AGE issues too :D Probably he played on the playground with Jesus Christ when he was a kid.

Styles make fights. Briedis is small and fast, nothing like the top guys at heavyweight, Holyfield struggled with Czyz, yet beat Bowe, Tyson, Moorer, Foreman, Rahman etc.

We really need to see Usyk to see how he does and how his speed and movement does against the giants of boxing.

I've actually long thought that both Usyk and Briedis might be better suited to HW than CW. Of course there's huge danger up there for them, but I really think there are a lot of HWs they can beat and look good doing it too.

Wilder is all wrong for him , he'll blow open his guard and catch him clean. Once he's buzzed he'll go all out in a hail of windmills. Unskilled as it may be ,its effective and very hard for the opponent to defend himself against a hail of lighting fast nuclear bombs.

he'd have a better chance against AJ.

Maybe, I guess we'll see Wilder vs Joshua first and Usyk against the winner in 2019 or 2020. Both interesting fights regardless.

Usyk's big advantage at heavy would be his speed, but I don't think he could take the hits. Usyk relies too much on covering up, rather than footwork, and a guy like AJ would just keep pounding on Usyk's guard until he hit the floor.

Problem with fighting elite HW's is you can't afford to make any mistakes other wise its lights out.. I don't think he has the power to compete in the top atm but this all depend on how he going about increasing his size for HW..

I'm sure he could firge out a great career as a HW and maybe even steal a ABC but being a Elite HW thats much harder...
