That's how I see it. I made a thread awhile back about how no truly dominant HW champ has been neither more hard hitting than his peers, nor larger than his peers. Usyk would be both smaller and lighter hitting than his peers as a hw. I think he can either dominate CW, maybe become the best ever if he stays there, or go to HW, as seems inevitable, and become a poor man's Holyfield. I think he could beat the right hw top opponents, but generally lose to SHWs in valiant efforts. That would be much like Holyfields career, though I don't think he'd be ranked as highly historically as Holyfield.
Thanks for your mindless comment. How am I trolling? The rationale is factually based. If it runs against conventional wisdom, then great, CW is often to usually wrong.
Usyk was a far better amateur than Holyfield Usyk has won a world title at cruiserweight faster than Holyfield and he seems to have more ability and potential than Holyfield
Usyk dont have the skills Holy did to succeeed at HW. Hes slower stiffer and while a southpaw i see MAJOR holes that real HW's will defeat him with. Holyfield was a slick counter puncher even in close range...Usyk relies on a long jab to come in with a sneaky left, hes EASY to predict if one has the skills to punch back.
Great! Let's see how he does! If your right, I'll admit I was wrong. Seems to me most hyped prospects sputter along the way though, will you admit your wrong if he loses to the top SHWs?
yeah I'll admit if I'm wrong. But this thread seems like a trolling thread to me, and it's stupid to discuss this.. I think by the time Usyk finishes his career he will have been more successful than Holyfield...I expect that, but we'll see.
Holyfield success at HW had every bit to do with his toughness as it did skill... I have no doubt that Usyk has the skill to hang with top heavyweights, but is he tough or durable enough? That remains to be seen.
Fair enough, we will see. Not sure how this is a trolling thread though, unless any thread that goes against someone hyped is meant to be trolling. I actually think I give Usyk alot of credit. Hes shown promise, but it's premature to call him anything special even in the CW division, on an ATG historical basis, as I have suggested. I think he could be in the top couple historically at CW. Just don't think think historical patterns suggest he'd be special at HW.
If Usyk dominates this stacked CW division I'm afraid people won't give him credit because the elite CW guys don't have much hype behind them.
Usyk have the Skills to absolutely dominate the Cruiserweight Division , but when i imagine him fighting against an Anthony Joshua or Deontay Wilder , i doubt that he can beat them , i think he is too small and have to make 15 Pounds at least to be competitive in the HW Division and he will be slower after that
Usyk doesnt have Holys chin. you will see him lose fast to anyone top 20 as long as they can punch. I see nothing in his training videos or fights to suggest he gets to top status. I will and did personally call this match and say Trey Morrison would defeat him ...should they meet at HW.
