I have. I think you're on the money here and read things pretty well tbh. I see where you're coming from and definitely agree - I had the same problem with a great poster a few years ago who used to micro-analyse to a very strong degree. By taking a solely scientific perspective to boxing, it does forgo the 'intuitive' and more 'fluid' aspects of combat sport as you stated. People argue over who is better prime, Mayweather or Whitaker - Whitaker for me because of what you mentioned and it's evident in his game. On a deeper level, I do this in the outside world on a daily basis, I'm a student Dentist who likes this type of analysis so much I'm thinking of converting to Law.
The problem is when discussing on a forum, I feel there's little scope for me to explain things from a more holistic perspective (I can only try to explain myself better in this regard), which is why I personally do more scientific-esque analysis on boxing because it has its merits at the end of the day and there's some good things to learn. Personally I train in BJJ and only casually train in boxing.
I think the reason why Usyk, Lomachenko and Gvozdyk have made fights more competitive than they needed to is precisely because of their 'gameplan/strategy' is fundamentally rooted in something more scientific - I think they're trying to find their feet in the way of understanding things as you stated.

I can't believe Hopkins vs Joe Smith is an HBO headliner. Would've been acceptable as the co-feature to Salido-Miura, but the senior's tour doesn't merit the main event on its own.

 

There are exceptions to every rule. This is Hopkins an ATG of the sports swansong, I don't think most will have an issue with it being a main event.

 

I don't have a problem with BHOP headlining an HBO card. He's almost 52 and Joe Smith Jr presents a fascinating challenge with his youth, strength and punching power. Smith could be a major spoiler here.

You cannot even manage a tooth brush across what's left of your putrid teeth and gums never mind manage a nightclub. Which at the risk of repeating myself you claimed to OWN along with others.

 

Its an ok fight but there are a lot of better options out there for Usyk.

Nice to see him come here to the U.S. and possibly on HBO and good to see him fighting just 3 months after winning the title which is a fairly quick turnaround.
