Not a chance. Wilder was never a cash cow and now he fought at some gym in Kansas against a bum. Wardley in UK or Kabayel in Germany would get Usyk more money.

The fight will be in the US. The US is the richest country in the world. AJ was paid $50M for the bshte Paul fight.

Paul is a massive name and is one of the most well known people in the world whether you like him or not. He's a social media star with millions of followers on all different platforms along with his brother.

So Paul has 100x more of a casual fan base watching his events.

Fury when he went to America to fight Wilder was asking random people on street if they'd heard of Wilder and most of them said no.

Wilder was not a popular champion in the same vein as some of the most memorable American Heavyweight champions of the past like Holyfield, Tyson, Ali, etc.

Wilder would absolutely not be Usyk's biggest money fight.

A fight vs Wardley in Wembley would be a massive fight or Kabayel in Germany.

So why Wilder was paid peanuts for his last fight in the mighty US?

The thing is what target audience is this fight for ?

Hardcore boxing fans have no interest in this fight because real boxing fans know Wilder is no longer a relevant Heavyweight and is totally shot now.

Wilder is not a big enough name for casuals to have a major interest in this fight.

So I'm baffled why people believe this is Usyk's biggest money fight.

If you believe in usyk,s injury you might also believe your girlfriend has met you as a virgin but as a teenie sat down on cane during a walk in the woods.

    Pure nonsense .

Kabayel filled a stadion in few days fighting just knyba . Now imagine usyk vs kabayel in germany as a world title fight or usyk vs wardley in uk .

On top : germany hosts way more than a million ukrainians .

Usyk vs either of those opponents would fill out stadiums in multiple countries.

Even if that weren't the case, I'm a boxing fan not a simp for someone else's finance's that's gradually ruining the sport.
Are you new to the forum? I'm very critical on Kabayels choice of opponents. But he's not the current champion anyway, so it's apples to oranges isn't it?

So you'll criticize Kabayel for not fighting Wardley who holds a belt in a different org (risks losing his WBC slot) but not Usyk when he blatantly ducks his mandatory despite getting an extension on said belt...

Usyk - Wilder is such a boring bout I don't even want to watch it. I guess they're banking on Wilder's casual fanbase to drum up some interest and financial backing for this one.

It seems like Usyk wants both Wilder and Ruiz, but Ruiz would be the only fight that would make some kind of sense.

I think they overestimating Wilder's casual audience. How many of them watched Wilder's last fight?

And that was a real stinker too.

But reports are they've scheduled the fight for april or may, so there must be some financial backing from somewhere.

Of course you are right . Some people just try hard to find excuses even when the situation is obvious. Wilder is not prize fighting for money, its just plain avoiding the way more challenging kabayel and wardley .

    Very bad for the sport.

Oh come on. The undisputed heavyweight champion (Usyk) will fight in the US. It will attract much more audience than Paul...
