Does Usyk have better defensive footwork than most American fighters today?

The rubbing your tummy, patting your head drill was one of the most important to master in the Soviet system.

When Usyk was a child? The Berlin wall fell in 1990.

Is that the reason Usyk got hit in the face by heavyweight contender Witherspoon?

He slipped a lot of shots like this though which will help him against Top heavies.

Footwork in general is a fading art, putting oneself into position to deliver power punches

EEs have a much better legs and footwork then almost every other region in the world. The cubans are the only ones operating kn a comparable level.

i learned boxing in kazak russian way and can say that almost any other style has a massive problem when facing this school of boxing.
When i hear americans talk about that
style i have very often the impression that they dont get at all what that style is ablut.

stupid. best legs in the last 10 years were american. 2 pairs of eastern euro legs just got whooped by a guy using his waist, where was all this leg work then?

Stupid? Why? He is talking in general, guys like Floyd and Crawrod aren't the average Joes.

And if we are talking about the conception of good foowork vs good waist movement then watch again Mayweather vs Canelo. The guy with a great footwork EASILY whooped the guy with a great waist movement and their fight wasn't even remotedly cometetive

His point was American fighters don`t move on their legs while slipping and that it`s a neat tick and no Kov doesn`t do that you`re right, it`s still a solid point though and a good defensive tactic trainers in America should train, like Barry R does.

you still think canelos skills havent improved in the last 7 years, what am i to do with that level of understanding?
2 fights after this fight, canelo beat the pair of legs this forum still creams themselves over. does that factor in at all in your calculations?

"Beat" is too loud word for getting a gift decision against Lara. And I'm sure that if you put current Canelo vs 2013 version of Mayweather even at 160 lbs, Canelo would look almost as clueless as he did 6 years ago. He might not lose every single round like he did in 2013, but I doubt he would win more than 2-3.
