Usyk says American fighters move their head but not there legs, Is he right?

How does Usyk equate his comments with the reality?

The reality being that, almost without exception, the best fighters in boxing history (across all weight classes) have been American.

I am not American, and have no need to say anything i don't believe to be true; I simply believe, objectively, that America has a boxing history greater than any.

As a Brit, despite us having some good fighters over the years, I can freely acknowledge this.

Anyway, when Eastern Europe has over 100 years of boxing history that has produced elite fighters generation after generation after generation, then they can comment on the flaws in other nations particular style.

When they produce an Ali, and a Frazier, and a Foreman all at the same time, and a Hagler, and a Sugar Ray (both), and a Floyd Mayweather jnr, and a...i don't think i need go on, you get my point.

 

So because they lost, it means they don’t use more footwork than a typical fighter does? How do you work that one out?

 

by watching the fight.

One (or two) exceptional talent(s) doesn't mean they can lecture others.

Come on, you know it was a dig...and i don't think the Ukrainians are in a position to try and lecture about boxing to American trainers and fighters.

using your legs is a style that is appropriate in certain fights, but standing in the pocket blocking and slipping is necessary in other fights and much harder to master. great fighter should be able to do both.
like canelo did in the 2 ggg fights. just to trigger some of you.

TBF Canelo stood in the pocket in the rematch but was picked off and made to miss aswell, both fighters changed their styles however one was suddenly classed as “Mexican style” and the other a “runner” ( which I find ironic coming from Floyd fans or pro Canelo fans especially after Canelos marathon in their first fight)

What I saw was to true elites able to adapt at any point.

 

Usyk and Lomachenko have the best footwork in boxing at the moment imo.

People trying to compare US fighters to Ukrainians from a historical achievement perspective needs to know the history of pro boxing in each country and more so the bloody population of each country.

 

....its all about the slip foot baby...GGG is a master of it when he feels like it. Most use it to avoid getting banged. GGG uses it to get an inch closer & on balance atall times!....No drugs neeeded here when its done properly....
