One of yes but still a decent man who has never been dropped or stopped, Fury beat the fight out of him. He quit. Fury cannot be beat in a dog fight, if you cannot keep him off he will eat you.
I don't think Fury is scared of Usyk. I think that Fury is scared of the amount of serious work that it will take him to get ready for Usyk.
I love Fury and all he has achieved, but he knows boxing and I can't help but feel that he knows Usyk has a great chance of beating him. This no doubt was a factor in deciding to retire. Usyk looks unstoppable!
This********* I don't think Fury is scared but he clearly doesn't want to lose his unbeaten record and if we're honest has only applied himself only a couple of times in his career. I would say the Vlad and 2nd Wilder fight are the only two times Fury did some roadwork and made an effort. Fury would need to be at his very best to beat Usyk otherwise Fury's alleged movement is merely a myth as Wilder didn't have the skills to capitalise on Fury's lack of fitness. Usyk would beat Fury judging from both of their last fights I can't see another way at this point.
nah...Fury is not afraid. it is a business. risk/benefit...reward. any one....including ...any one...that boxes for their profession...it is not about fear.
After the face off with Joshua he is even more afraid. The glare Usyk threw at the Bodybuilder made his blood run cold. Fury knows he cant knock Usyk out because the Ukranian is more warrior and shooter than him. Usyk fears nothing Fury instead can feel fear for someone. All that has to be very frustratring for him.
I suspect this is closest to the truth. He'll need to go to those dark places again to be able to beat Usyk and there's only so many times your body and mind can do that.
Fury isn't afraid of Usyk. But there are several reasons he isn't excited about fighting him: 1 - Fury would be the main draw and he doesn't want to carry Usyk for average money. Joshua would be BIG money. 2 - Fury would not get much credit for beating Usyk (he was too big, he cheated, blah blah blah). And Usyk is goading Fury because win or lose, he'd like another big payday after Joshua and before he retires.
Eh he performed great against AJ but still looked vulnerable at times and even AJ pulling punches on him bruised him up real good.
I feel as someone who has been watching Fury since the beginning that he doesnt want to fight Usyk. You can tell at a certain point because he becomes nasty about qho he doesnt want to face. Talking down a lot. And Fury is very aware pf what he can and cant do and what opinions in boxing are about. He is keen on retiring undefeated and deluding himself into thinking he is one of the best ever. He can carry on living with that state of mind. He knows he struggled most with Cunningham and Usyk poses a stylistic threat. He really wants to face AJ but not Usyk imo. We will see what happens after the fight though. If Usyk wins and doesnt look beatable in doing so he will be avoiding him I think. I like Fury and his redemption comeback but I wish he mans up on this one. Finds his balle and go for the winner regardless if its Usyk or AJ. Its funny though how Usyk is very aware of Tysons bs. Him calking him affraid shows he understands very well what Fury is on. I wish Fury fiught a few more times. Just face Usyk if he wins, another mandatory and then AJ at wembley as a final fight. Then nobody will ever knock him on retiring and ge would still be early-mid 30's.
Why would Fury be afraid of Usyk when he's so much bigger and stronger than him? And unlike Joshua, Fury knows how to use his size and height. I favor Fury to beat Usyk. It's like they say, "a great big man beats a great little man".
