Pretty obvious that he was hurt that can happen when you get hit clean with an uppercut from a 120KG giant that knows how to punch.
Fury is the only fighter I have ever seen seriously rock Usyk it was a great fight that Usyk won but it was by no means easy and I think the rematch will also be a good entertaining fight. Usyk is very humble admitting this and it shows great character which we already know he has. It's impossible not to like and respect the guy. Not only is he a great fighter but he is a great man and boxing doesn't have many as genuine as Usyk.

it was a very close fight that Usyk clearly won, and the rematch could go either way. Boxing fans are the absolute worst, we try to tear down every single big fight that actually delivers on entertainment value. Then we wonder why boxing is in the state that it is in. It isn't just the promoters and fighters who are to blame, the fans play a role in how the general public accepts or rejects a fight or the sport as a whole. Pull it together guys. Do what is right for the sport and give people respect where it is due.

This comment was not directed at OP, just getting something off of my chest.

Well said! The man is a legend for far more than what he has done in the ring. He is the perfect role model, and I hope a lot of young athletes are taking notice.

Well said. I get why people dislike Fury he is a clown but he is not some vile creature who gets arrested or bashes women like a lot of other fighters who warrant the hate they get. He is a quality operator when he is on his game and for all his BS fights he still does make the big ones.

The really true facts are: It was a very close fight (officially a split decision) and could have gone either way or a draw. Saying anything else is delusional because that is what happened. Just like Lewis beat Vitali. It happened and nothing can change that. It will be a close fight next time too and Fury is tougher in a rematch. I think he could easily win. I agreed with the judge that went for him the 1st time. But Usyk won the first fight and that is reality. And whoever wins the next fight will be reality too. Buck up and learn to except reality.

The shot hurt him in the regard that it was painful not that it discombobulatized him, had him on wobbly legs, or he was in danger of going down from the shot. He was in complete control of his mind and body.

When you're fighting opponents way way bigger and heavier than you the sheer weight of their shots is obviously a tough thing to deal with

A near 40lb lighter Usyk hurt Belly very badly and had him on wobbly legs and in dire trouble with a solitary left hand

The fight wasn't close but Belly could potentially win the rematch because Usyk is old and has been past his prime for years and isn't as elusive and mobile anymore.

    Top post.

Usyk gives credit where it is due but because it is directed at Fury there is outrage. Hate does terrible things to people.

For sure the Fury fight was hard. Usyk had the best rounds but at one stage Fury was lighting him up too.

Well, people can play it down. It doesn't change who won, no. But it is important to acknowledge because of the warped narratives going round, like the idea Usyk just 'schooled' or went through Fury comfortably. A lot of people can't admit they were mistaken and Fury was a very tough fight.

Fury haters and AJ fans can't admit that because it ruins their stories.

It's significant that Uysk, who is never really in trouble in fights, was likely put in the most trouble by Fury. This is different from the normal case of weathering some good shots. If Usyk is saying he as praying to God, it means he was in real trouble.

I don't know why people find it so hard to accept that Fury is a very good HW and a very tough challenge for anyone, and that he's better than AJ. It's pretty obvious. In no universe does Fury get TKO'd by Ruiz then run around the ring scared of him in the rematch. That's all you need to know. There's no way AJ survives three fights with Wilder years ago either, which is why he never fought him even one time all these years.

AJ picks opponents he always has big advantages over, it just backfired against Usyk because they didn't realise how good Usyk was at HW, and expected to bully him with the massive size advantage. If Usyk had fought Fury first, they would have ducked him as long as possible, at least to age him and slow him down.

He did say that but it is not always the hardest puncher that hurts you. It was a beautifully timed uppercut from Fury that Usyk did not see coming.

To be fair, Furys arrogance did him in. He was on his way, winning 3 rds in a row and got caught a bit in r8 I think but nothing major. Fury mustve thought it was luck cause he made no adjustments and was TKO’ED in 9th (I think). Had he been more humble the r9 damage wouldnt have happened.

    Rematch gone be good
