Dude just shut up…. Usyk has taken considerably less soft balls than most modern champions - and he has more than earned his pay days….plus he could do way worse than even a shot Wilder as far as soft touches go…. Thread doesn’t even warrant much discussion - if you feel the same way as OP go sip on some haterade…

Yes you opened giving Usyk credit for this, but why say he should he criticized for prioritizing the bag over all else ONCE in his career?

My feelings are similar to @Bustajay on the fight itself.

This is kind of how I feel about it. I'm going to watch. If you don't want to watch, don't watch.

They will also, if there's any justice, read that he was an exceptionally protected champion who went a whole career without beating a single contender.

    Contrast it with what, though?

Kabayel's beaten a fringe contender (in Zhang) at 40+, wasted a large chunk of his career hiding in Germany fighting bums (only 50% of whom he actually managed to stop) and then went back to bumfighting as interim champion when he had the potential to make good fights...

Sure, he might go on to do more than he has so far, but what there is right now is a fairly thin resume and a shitload of hype - which may or may not be justified, we don't know yet!

And certainly wouldn't have kept hold of it.

What is your obsession w ranked opponents? Victor Ortiz and Berto were ranked when Floyd fought them and they were BUMS. Ghost Guererro, Sharmba Mitchell, Baldomir, Sosa, Bruseles, Chavez, etc. Hell, Conor McGregor was probably ranked XD XD XD

While Floyd was earning his bronze, Usyk earned 2 GOLDS. And Usyk bested prime opponents, not arbitrary ranked clowns...all while being outweighed 40+ lbs at times and being in opponents hometown. Floyd never did that. NEVER. He needed catchweights, rehydration clauses, pick opponents gloves, pick the judges/ref, Retroactice TUE "vitamin" IVs, and xylocaine injections. And Usyk NEVER needed judges to bail him out.

I mean I guess Wardley could get the shot, but he doesnt pose much threat if you ask me. Parker would win a rematch cleanly.

...and Usyk is 38-39??????? That's not on Usyk though. Deontay wouldnt even fight AJ as he famously "bet on himself" and stayed w PBC to fight bums and use phantom punches to KO people.

I hope Usyk fights Wilder 3 times now

No he wouldn't, Wardley would stop him without the controversy this time. That was Parkers chance, now he'd be fighting an even more confident experienced Wardley. Parker lost to Whyte and Joyce, all loses are to British fighters

Exactly and rich people/celebrities will pay a lot of money for tickets even if there at exorbitant prices if its a rare event

I guess people would look at it more like Lennox Lewis vs Mike Tyson but even that wouldnt be accurate

Floyd never needed judges to bail him out either.

Fury Chisora and Bellew weren't prime opponents last time I checked. Bellew never fought again, Chisora was 37, Fury had just been dropped by Ngannou.

And Usyk doesn't have two golds.

Who did Usyk beat better than Canelo, Pacquiao, Cotto etc?

Wardley didn't win his belt and odds are he loses it in either his first (most likely) or second defense and never sniffs one again.

Wilder ducked Povetkin to fight a shot Stiverne who had also just failed a drug test.

Parker has 1 clear win over a British fighter and that was against Chisora in their 2nd fight.

Most felt Parker got a gift vs Chisora the 1st time.

    H.Fury fight was mighty close.

Parker lost to Joyce, Whyte, Joshua, Wardley.

Parker's record isn't good vs British Heavyweights and there's no reason to believe he'd beat Wardley in a rematch.

Berto won 7 world title fights and you call him a bum are you for real ?

The likes of J.Chavez fought 10 rounds with basically 1 arm with a near prime Morales and gave him a tough fight going the distance.
