Matchroom & DAZN stable is very deep - AJ, Usyk, Bivol, Beterbiev, Hooker, Farmer, Burnett, Brook, Khan, Bellew, Whyte, Vargas, C.Smith, Taylor, Kelly, Ritson, Crolla, Campbell, J.Miller and Quigg etc.
As expected. A good name to add to his roster, Usyk's ability is obvious. It's now Hearn's job to make him a star or at least build him up as a viable opponent for Joshua should that be the direction Usyk wishes to go.
One of Eddie's tweets says Usyk's next fight will be on Sky Sports & DAZN. Emphasis on Sky Sports. No mention of box office which he often does. Maybe it's nothing but this better not be another Luis Ortiz type of deal.
Wilder has enough 'Managers/Promoters' on his payroll to run a train on him....... Yet Usyk isn't Hearn's because it's a 'Co-promotion'. Nobody takes an interest in the fact that its just been made far easier for some terrific fights to happen.
Luis Ortiz 'type of deal' was because the guy got completely exposed against Scott/Allen. He then went and failed a drugs test. One of Hearn's best business moves to date was getting rid of Ortiz.
He was on the same card as AJ fighting against Dave Allen, while AJ fought Molina. I wonder if Usyk will be on the undercard of AJ/Whyte against Nick Webb. Odds anyone?
I like the fight you're trying to make a dig.....but failing. Ortiz didn't look out of place on the undercard..... In fact, Ortiz is an undercard fighter, lets be real. Usyk is CW champ. He wants Bellew which will obviously be a main event. And wants Joshua....... How does he take that route to Joshua? Whyte? WBC title from Wilder? Multiple more main events.....
You trying to tell us that Molina was a better fight than Ortiz? Pull the other one. And don't hit me with it was a mandatory nonsense. Hearn done well to peddle that myth at the time when in actual fact, it was a voluntary as David Price was their other option. He's not getting AJ soon anyway. That roadmap has been written already. Whyte/Chisora, Miller, Chinese Heavyweight, and any other bummy mandatory that they can pay the sanctioning bodies to dig up.
Nah, Ortiz didn't even sign with Hearn and already jumped ship before he was named mandatory so this is quite a different situation. I actually wouldn't mind seeing Usyk fight Ortiz at some point. I think Usyk dances circles around him and wins a wide UD.
