I don't know the details of this, but I heard in a couple of places on Youtube that team Usyk has said they would be open to fighting Wilder. I actually think this would be a good omega fight to wrap up his career, but let's hope he fights Parker first!. I could see him vacating a belt and letting Parker defend against Ituama to make it a bigger fight while he fights Wilder--the Dubois strategy all over again. For my money, if he has two fights left, Parker first and Wilder in a swan song is not bad at all. He's earned a gimme...but please, fight Joe! This content is protected
Hes got something different. And if Wilder won or came close to winning people would lose their minds. It'd be fun. Parkers earned it more but Usyk beats Parker 8-4. Just another day. Not disputing Parkers earned it and Wilder really hasn't. But after the last 10 years of dysfunction at least let the dysfunction be fun for a change.
Usyk wanted the trilogy Fury/AJ/Wilder to complete the set so I can understand why. Of course Wilder is way past it but on paper it completes the conquest.
No I don't want to see this and it would be a joke of a fight. Wilder hasn't beaten a ranked top 10 Heavyweight since 2019 which was 6 years ago. In the past 5 years Wilder has lost more fights than he's won and he's a total shell of himself. The only exciting aspect of this fight would've been whether or not Wilder could find lightning in a bottle and catch Usyk with his right hand. But since Wilder does not throw his right hand with anywhere near the same authority anymore what is the point of this fight ? If Usyk wants an easier fight for his last fight why not Wardley ? Atleast he's a top 10 Heavyweight and relevant you could have that fight at Wembley and it would sell like hot cakes. But first and foremost Parker should be getting his shot first.
