Too bad Wlad missed this crop of opponents by just a few years. Wish these guys came around 5-6 years earlier
The man cleaned out one of the strongest divisions in boxing. You'd be hard pressed to call Wilder or any current HW more accomplished than Usyk.
I didn't...I can only assume you misunderstood my initial post and/or the one I responded to. I agree regarding Usyk.
I'd rather see him take a fight against someone like Dimetrenko, Jennings, Duahapus. Wach or Hammer.. someone on that 2nd tier level first.
I doubt Usyk would wait til April. Think it will be Bellew and then AJ. Meanwhile Wilder fights Fury Wtf is this? Where the **** are the flying pigs?
All those guys have * next to their names for one reason or another. I don't think that could be clearer? But having beaten a total of two ranked opponents I don't think Wilder is anywhere near deserving of, for example, pound-for-pound status, no.
I don't think he's deserving of that either but he's every bit as good as AJ, Fury, and/or Usyk at HW. They are all flawed and have "red flags" for lack of a better term, but your post implied that somehow Wilder isn't deserving to be mentioned with those guys because he's only good in the mind of his fans. That seems disingenuous to me...he's no more or less deserving than any of the other fighters you mentioned who all have their own warts.
I'm a joshua fan Wilder DOES concern me a bit because of the power Current fury doesn't concern me but would if he gets to his best Usyk doesn't concern me AT ALL Hope the fight gets made
I wonder if they will try and not let Usyk get accustomed to HW and put him in with Joshua thinking that will be Anthony’s best chance.
That's how I think it will pan out. People are quick to accuse Hearn of lining up bodyguards for Joshua but I think a big part of it is maximising the return from his fights by making sure the opponents have some history with the primarily UK based audience. I'd like to see Usyk at least acclimatise to the weight and get a couple of victories at it before he's in the ring with AJ. If he moves straight to Joshua I don't think he'll do himself justice.
To one-up the WBO, the WBA has just crowned Usyk their Super Duper Ninja Turbo Champion™ But cool that he gets mandatory status that way. Makes negotiation a bit easier I think.
So you think if he's NOT as good as his fans think he is, he can still be mentioned alongside those guys?
usyks speed and movement gonna give Joshua fits.. but all he needs is one punch. I am still siding with usyk though lol. usyk literally made gassiev look like a level c fighter. its scary how easy he made it 0.0. also proves how good briedis is considering he kept the usyk fight close into the mid /mid late rounds.
