This bum couldn't beat Whyte in 2 attempts, couldn't beat Kabayel, struggled with Takam. But we're to believe he's gonna beat or even challenge Usyk ?

Of course it will - but that doesn't stop Matchroom and their posse of bias commentators and analysts trying to con the public into thinking Chisora has a chance. He has a punchers chance of course, it's HW boxing - but that's all it is in reality.

 

Thing is IFL isn’t even that good the audio quality is terrible. There are much better boxing channels out there on YouTube who don’t get a look in. As others have said he showed his true colours when he threw his toys out the pram when he was banned from the AJ-Klit fight. So I do sort of get what Chisora meant because Kugan is afforded privileges that other channels wont ever be even if there channel is quite obviously better.

I think people seriously underestimate how powerful del boy will be on fight night

Usyks has amazing boxing ability, but he is undersized here and how will he react when del boy is all over him like a rash with upper cuts and shots to the body at over 18 stone.

Chisora isn’t even particularly bigger than Usyk. He’s just heavier. I’ve seen Del Boy struggle with much lesser boxers than Usyk. I think it’s over within 10

 

Thats no longer the reality. We can keep kidding ourselves on...but how much do you expect usyk and chisora to fight for. These are two guys that have got to the top of the sport. Chisora,s spent half his career on poorish money. Taking on tough fight after tough fight to get to this position. Taking hundreds if not thousands of heavyweight punches to the head to get to this point. Who knows how it,ll turn out for him in retirement. Realistically how much should sky pay these guys to fight on their channel. We all pay for sky sports. But that money has to be shared around all sports. Boxings a niche market....without a massive budget. Bearing in mind these fighters pay taxes on earnings. Trainers. Training camps. Budgets for undercards etc. Promotion. How much do people expect sky to pay for one card. How much do people think usyk will get for it?

And was chisoras fights against whyte as entertaining as say joshuas v takam or joshua v parker. You can earn a ppv shot by being in entertaining fights. Thats because your purse should go up. Why would it not? Khan, brook, joshua all been on ppv fighting lower level guys. Chisoras put on highly entertaining fights against good names over the years now hes challenging the best cruiserweight in years.

The truth is outside of the ppv format theres no longer an interest in investing in boxing. Tv channels have turned away for years. The reality is the ppv formats allowed boxing to flourish. Fans dont realise that but without ppv you wouldnt be getting anywhere near the fights getting made prior to the corona virus. You also wouldnt be getting the coverage or the big promotion. Someones got to pay for that and the reality is sky doesnt have that budget for boxing.

 

Denis Lebedev types are genuine warriors and I love them, Chisora and Whyte types are puddings.

PPV should never apply to existing subscribers of Sky or BT Sports.

 

The budgets just not there for boxing jurgen. People pay for their sky sports but because boxings such a niche market and financially one of the biggest sports to fund its just not financially viable to get these fights on the sky sports platform on a regular basis. Usyk will probably take 4 million for saturday. Chisora 1.5 million at a guess. Factor in the price of promoting it. Venues etc undercard. Your looking at 7/8/9 million for a non title fight.

Its just not financially viable when you add the figures up. I can see the argument. But the reality pretty much is for these types of fights to be on regularly we pretty much need to pay. I do think the undercards a liberty and we should defo be getting more for our money tho.

I'm interested in the main event for one reason - I haven't seen Usyk take a full blown shot from a heavyweight and Derek is banging hard the last while. That is a factor in this fight, no doubt about it.

On another note, I've only had a look at the undercard today and I can't believe how poor it is.
