He is overrated really at cruiser.

Went life or death with Mormeck and Fragomeni, his best convincing win was probaly Enzo Mac,a guy he knew he had the beating of and Mark Hobson had shown glaring weaknesses in him already.

Like who? He went to the floor en route to stopping 5"5 Mormeck. He knocked out glass-jawed Macca (Who was knocked out by pretty much every fighter he faced). So who else?

Haye's CW record is good, no doubt about it -- unless people try to elevate it into something it is NOT. Haye was NOT a killing machine at CW. He did not "dominate CW". He is not the "Best CW ever". None of that non-sense.

It's a 50 50 fight, prime Haye is way better than that slow Russian tank Gassiev.

Haye was stopped by a 40 year old Thompson.

Dropped heavily, badly hurt and almost knocked out by the much smaller (SMW-LHW) Lolenga Mock who was 0-4-1 in his last 5 fights. In fact, he was hurt so badly by that right hand over the top he had to rugby tackle Mock to the canvas to buy some more time for his head to clear. Can you imagine the **** Usyk would be getting if he'd been dropped heavily and literally a punch away from getting sparked out by a blown up SMW who was 0-4-1 in his last 5 fights? lol

Haye went life-and-death with Fragomeni. If the Italian possessed even a semblance of power he would've stopped him.

Haye was dropped and put on spaghetti legs by Mormeck.

Knocked out in the ABAs by a tiler named Jim Twite.

Stopped by Solis in the World Championships.

And Enzo Mac and Guvov were packing some serious glass in their whiskers.

I've always rated Haye's power and speed and he would remain dangerous as long as he was still standing and had enough air in his lungs to keep hurling bombs with full power and velocity. However, Usyk is just too talented and tough for him and he would either out box him to a UD or break him down and take him out in the mid to late rounds after Haye's gas tank had run dry.

You must be a bit simple in the head. I clearly stated he stopped pretty much ever opponent he beat, 28 wins, of which 26 were stoppages. Let that fact just sink in for a second. Just because opponents weren't lying on the floor convulsing doesn't mean he's not a huge elite puncher.

OK, but who did he KO of note? Wilder has a high KO percentage, but most of his opponents have been bums or guys past their primes.

Selective memory. Haye wasn't slow back then. And he had KO power. Haye winning by KO wouldn't have been out of the question.

    Changing the narrative now? Lol
Fragomeni was a tough durable guy, stopped. Mormeck, stopped. Ruiz was tough as hell, also stopped (I tend to ignore the Tua blowout as a freak occurrence), Chisora, another durable guy. Haye can punch, to think otherwise is moronic.

Haye got stopped by Tony Thompson FFS in his cruiserweight prime.

Usyk smashes haye from pillar to post using speed and angles that would confuse haye.

Haye looks stunning Vs slow one dimensional plodder.

    Let’s not exaggerate though.

It was Carl Thompson and he was in no way prime.

Not based on his cruiserweight run.

Let's wait to see how Gassiev does at heavyweight before rating him there.

It's a perfectly valid follow on to his initial question. Your quality as a puncher is by and large related to who you stop as much as how you stop them. Haye had a poor resume at CW (HW is irrelevant for the purposes of this discussion) and a small body of world class KOs. In fact he basically has three KOs of note, Mormeck, Macca, and Fragomeni, and that's hardly going to trump anything Usyk has seen before in other KO artists he's faced.
