We all know Wilder isn't great but he has an extremely powerful right hand and that's enough to beat most of this current crop of heavies imo.

At about 3 minutes Bob Arum explains how Eddie Hearn prevented Fury v Joshua being made:

Why do I keep hearing Team Usyk are determined to have this rematch in the Ukraine?

Hearn keeps saying "I don't think that will happen", why isn't Eddie saying "No, it won't be in Ukraine", why isn't he ruling it out.

I'm wondering if in the contract the winner decides where the rematch will be held?

Because apparently Team Usyk were insisting on a rematch clause, even as the mandatory and I'm sure they wouldn't have let Hearn and AJ just have it all their own way.

Hearn mentions money every time Ukraine is being brought up and the "big offers" from abroad and also he says he would personally prefer the rematch back in the UK.

But that isn't ruling Ukraine out, he isn't being bullish or saying "we will decide where the rematch takes place, it's in the rematch clause".

I'm starting to wonder if Team Usyk have this wrapped up somewhat? If the rematch is in Ukraine then AJ is really up against it.

It would be brilliant wouldn't it. Throughout his career, Joshua has had a stacked deck in his favour. He's been the home fighter 100% of the time, even at MSG and in Saudi he was really.

His fights are usually packed out events with Mo Farah, Idris Elba and Declan Rice in attendance. I'd love to see him fight in an absolute cauldron as the away fighter for once, like Ukraine.

I agree, I would love to see Hearn try and throw his weight around in Ukraine.. we would just watch Hearn will go high pitched again like he did when Chisora put it on him.

It's just really thrown me, Hearn after Ruiz 1 was adamant he would decide where the rematch was, he said AJ (his boss) and himself would decide.. blah blah blah

But with Usyk, it's like he is saying "money, money, money" basically "if they want more money they will do it Saudi, US or U.K."

It's more of a suggestion and not a demand or contractual thing, I really hope Usyk INSISTS it's in Ukraine, I would love it, it would be amazing.

Also, while Fury has gone to a world champions/legit opponents backyards 3 times (Wlads and Wilders twice) 4 time by the weekend, AJ has gone to an opponents backyard ONCE, Ruiz and got smacked around.

I just keep hearing the same thing.. Ukraine, Ukraine, Ukraine, its getting louder so it will be very interesting to see where this ends up and if it was a contract thing or Usyk allows Hearn to go where he wants.

Agreed - would be really interesting and if Joshua was to pull it off in those conditions it would be the most impressive thing he's done in his career.

I'd argue that even at MSG he was the home fighter - it was completely geared up to be a Matchroom show, just over there in the US.

    I agree completely Mr F

AJ was the "Star" in the US against Ruiz, it was his "Coming to America Party"..

And you only had to look at the scorecards after 6 rounds to know AJ was given every advantage.. I believe one judge had AJ ahead after 6 rounds, outrageous, they would have screwed Ruiz on the cards regardless what actually happened if that went 12.

Even in the final round of the fight, the referee did nothing about AJ spitting out his gumshield, let AJ roam around for a bit and then just stand there in the corner.. he took an age to stop that, even Macklin on commentary said "What's the referee doing"? Because it looked so bad.

Then we go to Usyk, Howard Foster tried to screw Usyk, 115-113 Usyk wasn't acceptable, so if he went one round the other way he had it a DRAW.. that is ridiculous, that's been almost ignored, he gave AJ rounds 1 and 2, seriously WTF was he watching? but it was so onesided even Foster had to give the last 4 to Usyk.

I want this rematch in Ukraine, I want that hostile crowd, hostile environment and officials too frightened to try any shenanigans.

Just like to add.. Foster had AJ 2 up after 8

Everybody should Let that sink in, AJ was 2 rounds up after 8 according to Foster..

And the BBBofC, Hearn and anyone Team AJ have said zero, nothing.

But then we only have to look how Hearn revised Campbell Hattons outrageous gift, he went from "Campbell was very very lucky" to "at the bell I thought they would give it a draw"

And once again it's all been ignored and forgotten about.

If the rematch is in the UK and goes the distance they will rob Usyk blind, all AJ has to do is be a little better and they will justify a turn around on the scorecarda.

I was at the MSG for that fight and almost all the crowd was for Joshua. 10,000 Brits plus Americans coming to see the 'coming out party'. Ruiz was booed at the weight in and on his ring walk.

I’d like to see the event being in Ukraine if that’s what Usyk wants but I just can’t see it happening unless everyone is happy to wait until the summer for the fight to happen.

Yeah, That's is a problem, the weather.

But it could be inside, if Team Usyk have an option to have it in Ukraine and they insist on it then Team AJ might have to fight in front of thousands instead of 10's of thousands.

It will still have sponsors, advertising and PPV, we are just talking about a live gate, sure it's a lot of money but is that worth the risk?

The scoring in the last fight may play a huge part in any decision, is a few more million on top of an already huge purse worth the risk of being stiffed on any cards, which I'm convinced will happy if it goes the distance again.

I think they’ve said it’s going to be in March so I can’t see it at a stadium and I can’t imagine they have many big indoor arenas.

If you think the gate for the first fight will have been somewhere around £15m then that’s a big shortfall to make up especially when Usyk should now also have a larger slice of the pie this time so may look to maximise that.

I always found that odd, Match room signing Ortiz. Was it to eventually make a Joshu,Ortiz matchup or to keep Ortiz away from Joshua?
