Btw does it matter all that much that Usyk is more athletic ? Lewis has the superior resume. Far superior. Lewis can also stack distance control with a quick long heavy jab on top of his physical advantages over Usyk unlike Joshua and Lewis was good at timing a counter straight right and even gunshy Joshua was landing counter crosses here and there. Lewis was also good at hunting the body and was especially good with his counter uppercuts and Joshua had success with these tactics in the mid rounds before stupidity abandoned them. Lewis could lean on Usyk in the clinches too and was a better infighter than anybody Usyk has come across.

Usyk beats Fury then this fight is a hell of a lot closer but Lewis had a better jab than Fury and was better in the pocket and better on the front foot so yeah

He was on his toes in spots against Mavrovic in the late rounds. Your statement leads me to believe you didn't watch the fight. He wasn't Ali but he could box and move late. That doesn't mean he'd need to. Because Usyk wouldn't be trying to eat every punch and get on the inside like Mavrovic did in spots. He'd be moving around like Mavrovic tried to in round 6 and Lewis had 0 issue walking him down

If Usyk was against him Lewis would be fighting Usyk on the inside or timing him with counters because thats what he did with Mavrovic and he outclassed him in the exchanges. That fight was not close, so again you're being ridiculous. However Usyk would definitely give Lewis one of his toughest fights. It wouldn't be Usyks combinations that would trouble Lewis, because Lewis was comfortable in the pocket unlike Joshua. it would be Usyks movement.

 

I'm a fan or Lewis, his sneaky head hold and rear uppercut was very clever but any intelligent boxing fan would understand that Lewis would turn to jelly under the intelligent pressure and superior athletic ability of someone like Usyk. No shame in saying it. Usyk puts so many champions to shame with his athleticism and ring IQ.

 

Lewis didn't use any head holding uppercuts against Mavrovic. He timed Mavrovic on the way in several times with uppercuts without the the help of a cheating lead hand. It was incredible how many uppercuts he landed. Besides, Lewis has the far superior resume than Usyk

 

If you think that isn't true I beg you to watch the fight again. Lewis relied on that tactic. It was dirty but clever as he got away with it.
