Michael Hunter, who is a novice compared to Ward managed to get inside on Usyk and even steal some rounds despite being inactive and even a scrub like Mchunu managed to get inside on Usyk. Usyk was the best fighter at cruiserweight, but in all honesty the top light heavyweights are much better fighters and much more experienced than the fighters at cruiserweight. It's like Crawford dominating the extremely weak 140 division. Both 140 and cruiserweight are mediocre divisions. Dortico's was hyped as some dangerous knockout puncher, but got completely exposed by Miranda, who couldn't compete at 175 anymore. Miranda had no problem taking Dortico's power and even had Dortico's respecting his. Bellew got completely flattened when he challenged an elite fighter at 175, but had no problem becoming a top ranked fighter at cruiserweight and even getting a title. Bellew is easily better than anyone on Usyk's resume while Ward would toy with Bellew.
I'd love to see that fight and don't see it easy for Usyk. Ward's craftiness and grit should not be underestimated. He does things to reduce the activity and disrupt the other fighter. He moves laterally and then holds you, works you roughly on the inside and body, and has surprising power to get your attention and make you think twice before opening up. In other words, he multi dimensional and can fight from any distance in the ring, compare that to someone like Gassiev who was stuck on stupid all fight against Usyk and did the same ineffective BS all night long, no jab, no adjustment, nothing.
Bellew was a heavyweight in the amateurs and an emaciated 175 fighter, you only have to look at how healthy he looked compared to his child like build at 175. Ward would "toy" with Bellew at cruiserweight?.....based on what? He lost the first Kovalev fight and won the second under iffy circumstances. If Ward thought he could beat Bellew or Usyk he'd of stepped up by now, just like if he thought he could beat the stacked 17t division he's of stayed fighting on.....unless he's doping like he was before, hence the going missing for 2 years.
How does a guy who's 3" shorter, has tiny T-Rex arms, has lead feet compared to Usyk.....get on the inside of Usyk? It's not as though Ward has a great inside game, he'd effectively trying to wrestle the bigger powerful man.....
Kovalev had advantages too, he ended up doubled over in a heap. I feel uysk would be tougher but he would still win
Why even bring up Ward at all? Seriously. Wake me up when he beats an elite Lightheavy without cheating.
Ward is not a cruiser . I think usyk has better chance against Joshua, than Ward against usyk. Size difference between usyk and ward is too big, not skill . Size difference between Joshua and Usyk is also big, but Usyk is more skilled .
Really? Amazing analysis. That's exactly how I thought Rigondeux would destroy Ward. And in other news, this should interest you: https://theflatearthsociety.org/home/
