He's got heart and a puncher's chance. He holds a major, likely the most prized trinket at the weight, and therefore merits a discussion.
After his performance against Huck. I stand by what I said in saying that Kucher would be a favorite against Bellew.
Bellew is not a pillow puncher by any means, but he's just not talented enough to win the big one. He may never be the same after Haye gets through with him though.
Absolutely spot on. I'd have Gassiev at #2 personally after beating Lebedev, but these are the best five fighters in the division right now based on skills. And: - they are all warriors who will fight anyone; - they are all world-class talents - there are also a number of other good fighters in the division, e.g. Huck, Dorticos, Vlasov, Makabu, Mchunu, Shumenov, Vlasov, Kudryashov, Hunter, Włodarczyk, Cunningham. Very few other divisions can boast that amount of world-level / contender talent.
Unfortunately Haye is going to destroy him. It's too bad too because I am totally on Bellew's side on this because I hate Haye but really Bellew doesn't have a chance. If he really wants to get knocked out again when he moves back down to Cruiser then he can go ahead and fight Usyk
Although Bellew has surprised me a couple of times lately, Usyk is on another level and would embarras him.
Clear win for Usyk. Mind you - Bellew will come to fight and will probably give us an entertaining fight, so I'd actually like to see this one made.
Agree on both counts. Bellew has a puncher's chance, but it isn't as much of a chance as the usual "puncher's chance" because: a) Usyk has a good chin, so Bellew would need to catch him with something really big b) Bellew's chin isn't that great, meaning he probably wouldn't have much time to land his KO punch c) Usyk is a lot more skilled and reasonably competent defensively
Usyk would knock that loud-mouth clown out. As much as I dislike Bellew, I've always known that power in his left hand is legit and he can take out most with it if he lands clean. But Usyk is in a completely different class and even Bellew knows he is too.
Yeah. I understand his reasoning to move up and fight Haye, but I don't think anyone is expecting anything less than a Haye knockout in this fight and it could be Brutal. He should have stayed at CW and unified the division with one of the other titlists, that way there's no excuses when he loses his strap from his team or fans.
Yeah, Bellew has power like you say, but when faced with an opponent with better boxing skills, he tends to go into his shell and become very tentative. He even did that against Cleverly in their CW bout. I'm not even sure he'd have a puncher's chance against Usyk.
How many threads there must be about this fight , they would never face each other because Bellew knows it will be ugly to get killed in the ring
