It’s already been a year since this fight took place, with the controversial “low blow” call that was the center of discussion in a fight that was mostly one sided in Usyk’s favor. Dubois, despite "hurting" Usyk, still could not get the job done and ended up getting stopped himself from a jab.

Now that a year has passed do some of you still think that this should have been called a legit body shot knockdown? Would Usyk have gotten up if he was being counted for the blow?

Nope nothing charged except Dubois has sine somehow drunk some magic potion and gotten a lot tougher somehow. Can’t see him quitting from jabs anymore

My opinion has changed on it slightly from when I was so adament it was a legal shot.

My theory now is that according to the rules it was a low shot but I don't think it was low enough that it hit Usyk in his crown jewels. And I've seen other fights where punches have landed in that same borderline area and been deemed as legit by the referee.

I would say the fist grazed his belly button but most of the fist was below the belly button hence its technically a low shot according to the rules.

But again it is very borderline shot and if it had been deemed a legit shot by the referee. I'm not entirely sure Usyk could've got up within 10 seconds as Usyk was noticeably shaking and completely winded.

All in all technically a low shot but still very borderline where some referees may of called it a knockdown as the shot wasn't in Usyk's crown jewels as I said.

Yeah, people were trying hard to see it as "illegal"

For me it's a standard bodyshot.

    Special treatment for "special" boxers

Looked legitimate to me and its the one mark against Usyk for me, not in going over, he demonstrably is not fond of body shots, but who is? No, it was in his dismissive attitude after and claiming he was hit 'in the balls'. He didn't have his usual magnanimous manner after the fight and that told me that he knew he'd been hurt and was being a little, er, human!!

    It was a low blow
    Below the beltline

I think if a count started that Usyk would have got up, but he would be entitled to the recovery time
The shots below the naval can cause damage

    Not a lowblow

On the belly button which was covered by the belt. Legal by all normal standards.

Classic and standard jab to the body target for any experienced boxer, amatuer or pro with that high belt and in this case it was an uppercut.

    Great bodyshot.

Referee is a Usyk house ref has been for years. He was calling AJ's perfectly legal shots to the body low also.

Never before has such a fuss been made over a bodyshot.

It's controversial only according to Dubois and Fury worshippers.

    Low.

Dubois should quit watching Ward. He is not that privileged.

    Low blow, under the belt

If it was a real shot why didn't Dubois target the body and hurt him again the rest of the fight? Its easy to drop someone again if they've been hurt to the body, he didn't even get Usyk to wince again. Instead, Usyk beat him up and stopped him.

It was barely a low blow. Replay shows it was a low blow by like a hair. The ref immediately calling that low in real time is a bit suspect, but in the end he was right on the slimmest of a technicality. The punch put Usyk down hard. I don't think he would have gotten up in time had the ref called it a legal punch. We'll never know.
Dubios getting stopped by a jab later on in the fight erased any sympathy I have had for his case.
As far as boxing controversy, this is low on the list.

I'll have to rewatch, but live I'm sure I saw Dubois invest in the body throughout the fight? I may be confusing myself but I thought Usyk, as usual, looked uncomfortable when he was hit there.
