Usyk vs Gassiev - WBSS CW Final Poll

Gassiev doesn't have the reaction time to beat Usyk. He waits way to long and relies on his opponents slowing down and standing directly in front of him.

 

I voted for Usyk on points but I'm not sure. He should better be careful, that left hook is very dangerous.

 

Usyk will still be the favourite, but Gassiev is very dangerous indeed. He looks slow for a bit, and then throws amazingly powerful and fast combos. It's quite deceptive. Also when he goes for the finish he just turns into a beast it reminded of Joshua turning it on vs Klitschko.

I'd give Usyk a 60-70% chance, but he has to use the movement he's famed for.

 

Iron Gassiev is a raging bull of a fighter. I go with him.

Should be easy if he boxes and moves.

If he trades, he could lose and get stopped, however.

 

I was never sold on Usyk beating Gassiev as a foregone conclusion. Its going to be tight - quantity over quality .. Gassiev has the power to score a stoppage while Usyk doesn't. Lots of varying factors . Genuine 50/50.
The winner is p4p top 5. Arguably p4p#1 if it wasn't for Canelo GGG II.

Speed/movement/reach difference is too much.

If Usyk fights smart, he should handle this fight well.

Of course, Gassiev is not going to fight Usyk in the same manner he fought Dorticos. He'll be on Usyk much harder than that.

 

Accidentaly voted draw, but meant to vote Usyk by UD. Expect it to be a close fight with Gassiev having his moments but can see Usyk winning based on excellent movement and a high work rate.

 

Uysk will need to use his feet slot more!

 

I'm still favouring Usyk. Uysk isn't Dorticos, hopefully he won't just stand in front of Gassiev like Dorticos did. Even if he does I think Usyk has better positioning, that along with his southpaw stance should be enough to earn a decision.

But I don't think it's going to be an easy nights work for Usyk, Gassiev will likely have plenty of success. He's fast, explosive, varies his shots nicely and showed he's a dangerous counter puncher.

 

Is anyone completely amazed that gassiev is only 24!!

 

I’m going the safe route as this will go to the cards but not sure how this ends
