Another factor to consider is that Gassiev is clearly improving from fight to fight, his variety is so much better than it was vs Lebedev. You can see that he's a fine young man and has the right attitude, so I see no reason why he won't keep improving for a while at least.

 

If he stays a cw which I doubt he will,but he would probably break records there, for defenses and so on!

 

I didn't see the gas tank on Gassiev to be able to implement the type of high pressure gameplan needed to wear Usyk down. The way Breidis was landing clean shots, and snapping Usyk's head back, bodes well for Gassiev. But he needs to be on Usyk's arse right from the start to be able to win, in my opinion.

 

Yeah, Dorticos fought the macho fight, and gave the fans a good fight, and lost. Boxing in a more typical Cuban style, on his toes from a distance, using his length, probably would have won him a decision. I don't expect Usyk to be as stationary.

 

This. Gassiev has the power and durability to be a problem for anyone at cruiserweight, but relies too much on landing big shots. Lebdev exposed this. Usyk like Lebdev isn't going to stand straight in front of Gassiev all fight like Dorticos foolishly did.

 

A great case can be made for either boxer. So it will come down to who can fight their fight. If usyk can fight effectively with movement and speed he can outbox gassiev. If gassiev isnt deterred by usyks power and can cut the ring he can win. One thing is for sure it will be a great fight.

 

Gassiev also does a good job of picking off shots with his gloves and has decent head movement. He has underrated subtle defense .

 

Gassiev has the skill set to win. He showed a good crisp left uppercut to the chin against Dorticos and a good uppercut seems to be effective vs Usyk, plus Gassiev follows that short upper with a hooking right and on top of that MG is a vicious body puncher. I will jinx Gassiev and pick him to win.

 

I don't want either of them to lose, but I have to give Usyk the edge to win by decision, but hard fought!!! This will be a great fight, the only country boycotting this fight will be America, USTV should be ashamed!

 

He fought perfect game plan for Dorticos fight. But I don't see how he can make a good game plan for Usyk, he doesn't have punch output and work rate for that. Cruiserweight Ruslan Fayfer has said, that you need to pressure Usyk every second of the round to beat him because it's impossible to outbox him and he has sparred with Usyk. But Gasiev has never sparred with Usyk, he doesn't know how to deal with Usyk. Besides, Usyk is much better than Dorticos and will come well prepared for fight against Gasiev.

 

Usyk changes levels, angles and distance like 1-2 Dorticos just could dream of.

 

Usyk by decision and I expect that this will not be a very exciting fight, of course provided Usyk doesn't do the "big drama show". But I can't help but notice that Gassiev is progressing from fight to fight and he grew significantly after the battle with Lebedev. And i think he will achieve his peak in 28-30, But now the Usik has faster feet,experience, skills and this should be enough to win.
