Yeah I agree. It's a good test for Usyk to see what he can do to deal with those giant heavyweights. Both Fury and AJ are big enough to bash Usyk and send him back to the CW Division.
Usyk whips him. I don't think Helenius hits THAT hard and he doesn't throw enough to worry Usyk. OTOH Helenius did show a good jab from time to time and if he worked on that the matchup becomes much more problematic for Usyk.
Helenius is a very good opponent choice. He is the size of opponent that Usyk needs to learn from, and these days he has very little ambition and is low output.
I think Chisora is a better opponent for him than Helenius. Style wise, in terms of being able to see what he can do at HW
Yeah would have been better. Fighting Chisora is just plain pointless outside of the money. Chisora is a fat cruiser, at best a small fat HW and fights completely differently to the big three. If Usyk just wanted to fight at HW with no clear ambition then it's different, but he keeps talking about the goal of AJ/Fury/Wilder, so what the hell is he doing. He needs to stick to tall fighters with bigger reach and power than him, and decent skills. Helenius is perfect for that, really.
Helenius has been crummy for many years & blasted out his boots by subpar fighters but he'd be great for Usyk? That's no test, its a gimme...
I like that fight, Helenius upset Kownacki who was looking good. I think Usyk can get the finish too in the later rounds.
