How can anybody be certain Lewis would beat Usyk when he was knocked out by McCall and Rahman?

Lennox every day of the week.
Far too good a technician and no way Usyk lands or gets past Lennox’s jab and distance control with any consistency. He also feels the power at some point and decides to box to a safe commendable points loss to avoid getting ko’d.
I go with Lennox on comfortable decision or late stoppage if he really decides to go for it.

I'd favour Ali and Holmes over him too.

As for Usyk, not doubt he's a tough opponent even for Lewis, but with Lewis accomplishments it's hard to pick Usyk over Lewis right now. We've not seen Usyk beat anyone like Lewis and no Joshua is nothing like Lewis.

How will Usyk cope with Lewis lead hand control? The way Lewis uses his size is more like Fury than Joshua, he uses his lead hand to control his opponent with frames, collar ties, posting etc. Throw in feints, the way he disguises his hook as a jab, his guard manipulation tactics all to get his opponent to focus on his left hand and move them into his right hand. Usyk's head movement won't be as effective when Lewis uses his lead hand to blind, push, pull, a lean on his head and control Usyk's position, Usyk will find it far harder to get Lewis's jab than with Joshua.

Maybe if Usyk beats Fury and somehow negates Fury's tactics we can start talking about Usyk beating Lewis but until I see Usyk able to cope with these type of tactics, I can't favour him over Lewis, especially as Lewis's best punch the right hand is the perfect foil vs a southpaw.

I think a motivated Lewis is too much for Usyk I think he is the only SHW that would cause problems for Usyk due to skill level. I do accept that Lewis could blow hot and cold but we are talking prime motivated Lennox who could take out some top oponnents in a round or two. Although I do think Usyk has a great chance against Fury who although great in the 2nd Wilder fight generally is inactive Usyk I think who would outpoint him. I would be suprised if that fight happens to be honest.

Lennox never faced a leftie in the pros I think and Usyk movement and speed are brilliant advantages to have.
But Lennox has something that seems to have gone missing in AJ and that's he's got the dog. He'd hold hit and bring that fight ending uppercut into play.

Tough to call. I'd lean toward Lennox but i'm not as sure of the outcome as I was

Nobody, I just said he struggles with them.
I'm not saying Usyk would beat him, I'm saying Lewis would struggle

Agreed, Usyk's too good to just be blown away or dominated.

    Lennox. That's it, just Lennox.

I see no reason to expand on why, we see and know what both have shown in the ring.

Usyk. Just better. Faster, better chin, more stamina, higher output, better technically. Usyk in almost every way.

Here are the facts to consider:

    1) Lennox Lewis never fought a single southpaw in his entire pro career, much less an elite one, and even less the greatest southpaw heavyweight of all time, even when he could have (Chris Byrd and Sultan Ibragimov).

    2) Lennox Lewis's best shots literally bounced off an astronomically inferior cruiserweight sized opponent in Željko Mavrović
who has similar physical dimensions to Usyk but is astronomically inferior in every other way except maybe durability (where there may be equal). So if Lennox Lewis could not even put a dent in that journeyman, then there is no reason to infer Lewis even manages a knockdown, much less a KO against Usyk who has shown nothing to suggest his own durability is any worse than Mavrovic's.

So what can we infer from these facts? We have 0 idea how Lewis would perform against not just a southpaw, but pretty much the greatest soutpaw of all time north of light heavyweight. None of us have any clue. Not me! Nor the Lewis fans! Nor the Lewis fanatics! Nor the Lewis haters! Nor the neutral boxing fans! However, what we do know is Usyk is extremely proficient in dealing with tall heavyweights. So there's more feats of Usyk to go by against opponents who are more similar to Lewis than of Lewis against opponents more similar to Usyk. Lewis only fought a scrub but granite chinned Mavrovic who is even remotely comparable to Usyk. Whilst Usyk is also an arguably granite chinned and bare minimum A level fighter.

So based on these critical facts, we have to make Usyk the favorite if we're being objective and unbiased, given we have more relevant feats of Usyk (against 6 foot 5+ orthodox super heavyweights) than of Lewis (against any southpaw, much less one who is 6 foot 3 and is as skilled as Usyk).

You conveniently left out a guy who is most similar to Usyk = Mavrovic. And Mavrovic laughed off Lewis's best shots. So all these other guys are irrelevant. if he can't even put a dent in a scrub like Mavrovic, I find it hard to imagine him doing any better to Usyk who is levels above that scrub.

Yeah, I agree with your points. As I already stated, I'd also slightly favor Lewis as for now. I just find laughable when people like @TheVet are trying to downgrade Usyk

Living in the moment is fun! But:

One guy is a 3-0 HW.

The other guy is one of the best HW's ever.

Time can change my opinion and clearly Usyk is very good. But you need reflection for something like this. How many times people jump the gun on a contemporary boxers historical greatness and continue to do so is almost baffling.

    You are overreaching on here.
It's documented that Lewis ducked Byrd, and he never wanted to fight a southpaw. There is a reason for it. As i said if Usyk was orthodox, yeah bet your house on Lewis.

Also you are overstretching with Lewis boxing ability.
Mercer is a guy with a good jab, who totally outjab Lewis. Guess what Usyk would do to him then ?
And you can even make a case for Mercer winning that match, and draw would have been a fair result imo.
And this Mercer in his last 8 eight matches in the last 4 years, have 1 draw, and 3 loses prior to Lewis match.
Then he goes on a streak, and you know what Wladimir Klitschko did to him ? Send him back to school.

So pls let's not overrate Lewis technical and boxing ability. And Joshua also have an insane uppercut, yet it was missing in the Usyk fight.
And Joshua most probably is faster.

    Anyway compare:

And yeah i know that was 6 later Mercer, but he was on a 7 win streak.

But there's also no proof that Lewis would fare well against an elite southpaw.
