Does anyone know a likely venue for this fight? Will definitely watch this over Wilder’s brave decision to fight Breazeale *yawn*
Good opponent for his HW debut, Takam's a big and very physically strong and tough dude who can apply a lot of pressure and give Usyk a good test. Yes he lost to AJ and Chisora recently but he was giving the #1 ranked AJ problems before the controversial stoppage which occurred at a time when Takam was coming on strong and AJ seemed to be tiring and he was whooping Chisora's ass before the later pulled that punch out of nowhere (the punch of his career).
Good solid first test for Uysk on his heavyweight debut. Takam always brings it and is a good gauge at heavyweight having fought some of the best in Povetkin and Joshua. With Usyk looking to fight Povetkin most likely next it sets up a nice comparison for fans of both to debate about. I expect Usyk to win a UD, he'll be too quick and mobile for Takam.
Sucks it weren't the Povetkin fight. It's Usyk's first fight at heavyweight, so I'll cut him some slack for this opponent. Hopefully he steps up quite quickly. Don't want to see too many of these type of fights. There's not too much time to waste on no hopers.
Nobody is going to predict Takam, Chisoras leftovers, to beat Usyk. Check the Prediction League if you are in doubt, I guarantee Takam will have a big 0 beside his name.
The irony of this coming from a Donkey fan. And it was Team Povetkin who turned down the fight with Usyk, not Team Usyk turning it down.
This is a good introduction to the heavyweight division. It's got Usyk UD written all over it, but he would make a statement if he managed to stop Takam.
You leave Deontay Wilder alone! Nothing would please me more than watching this puny Usyk taste the floor against a shot Takam.
It's an ok fight, though a bit disappointing after all the talk of Povetkin and Ortiz. Takam is one of those solid guys who always gives fighters a good night's work, even though his record isn't too impressive. He really should have beaten Chisora but stupidly walked right into that massive shot, so that's going to take the lustre off the win when Usyk gets it. I already see someone calling Takam "Chisora's leftovers" as if Chisora just walked through him with no problems, and Takam's win column is quite thin. Anyway, any other CW (or HW for that matter) and I probably wouldn't have a problem with this, but I expect superhuman things of Usyk, so perhaps I hold him to an unreasonable standard.
