Me and my friend are having a disagreement over who would win, so thought would start a poll on here thanks for any input guys
Wilder will always have a decent chance against anyone. But I think Usyk batters him and stops him. He’s far too quick and intelligent to bet hit with windmilling punches. He handled AJ and Joyce with ease so size isn’t an issue either.
If he lands clean on him he'll make him go to sleep. Usyk is good enough to know where to position to avoid that... Problem is Wilder can a laser right hand from time to time, which means is STILL has goods odds to find his target with power despite Usyk being that good. It's big men with a jab that give Wilder fits...but as Fury has shown in 2 fights no matter how good you are the HW division especially against freaks like Wilder is an odds game. Fury can take punches off Wilder. Usyk can't. Nor can AJ. AJ has about a 20% chance to beat Usyk by stoppage. Wilder 30%. Fury 100%. People are too high on Usyk, he is at the end of his career and found a beautiful target in the bodybuilder to snipe off. That's good enough for him, he should retire but fair dues to him he will take on the biggest challenge in Fury when it's available.
There's always that chance, but I expect Usyk to beat Wilder. Maybe stoppage by accumulation, maybe by closer on the cards as reality decision.
I can't see Usyk stopping him as the best opponent he's stopped is Bellew in the 8th. I also can't see Wilder winning a round unless he scores a KD as southpaw mover Szpilka was neck and neck with him before KO9. Coming off two horrible back to back beatings from Fury and a lot of inactivity, Wilder is not at his best and I'd favour Usyk to beat him. A couple of years ago I'm not confident; Usyk has to survive 36 minutes to win and as good as his chin is, we don't know if it can take flush right hand bombs from Wilder. If Wilder can land on a defensively-minded 6'8, 85 inch reach Fury as he did in the first fight, he has a good chance of landing on anyone.
I guess the question is, if Wilder knocks Usyk down, can Usyk get back up like Fury did? Does anybody really know? Has he ever been tested with that kind of power before? I gotta say, I'd give Wilder a decent chance, if his head is on straight. But if it were to go the distance, Usyk would easily win it on points.
IMHO, Usyk wins this, by decision or late stoppage. If I was in Wilder's camp, I'd suggest avoiding Usyk. I'd be looking for somebody like Andy Ruiz for a money fight. Even Joshua would be a somewhat dangerous fight, though he should consider it, but only if the money's huge, as in 1 more big payday before retiring. I'd get that win over Ruiz 1st.
I need to remember if AJ ever actually landed flush on Usyk. If he did it must not have been too hard on Usyk...but Wilder certainly hits harder. I don't know if Usyk has enough experience with heavyweight punchers for me to make a pick. I know I pick Wilder to stop AJ and kd and ultimately decision Ruiz.
95% Usyk. 5% Wilder. Wilder *could* land his right hand bomb but it would be unlikely as Usyk is far too good to walk on to it. Every other scenario that plays out favours Usyk, I'd actually pick him to stop Wilder.
He did once, maybe in the 4th or 5th, like it wasn't a hail mary shot ala Wilder but it was a big shot. Usyk was visibly hurt but Joshua didn't follow it up as I think Usyk had done a good job in the first few rounds making Joshua weary of what would come back if he got reckless. The moment passed and Usyk went on to dominate. Regardless, I can't see Wilder landing his crude right hand on Usyk anyway. He's far too quick to get hit by that. If Wilder had trouble landing on Fury he has no chance landing on Usyk.
If Usyk can take the shot and use his wiles to avoid Wilder's inevitable windmill, he could win by decision for sure. I don't think Usyk can stop him.
