In one of the videos promoting the Joshua-Ruiz 2 match, I heard someone (not sure who it was) say that they had recently seen Usyk and that he looked "massive." The same person (think this was British commentators) said that Team Usyk feels like they need to bulk up after the Witherspoon fight. Of course, if he bulks up too much he could lose speed and mobility, two of his main assets. Anyone know what Usyk is weighing these days and what his weight goal is? He seems to be around 215-220 naturally. Curious to know what number he's aiming for. If I were his camp I would bring him along slowly at heavyweight. I think Holyfield (who also bulked up for heavyweight) fought 7 times at the weight before fighting for a title. Something like that.
Ok found the video. It's Eddie Hearn speculating, so this is not necessarily a "fact" that Team Usyk is gaining weight. But the other guy does say Usyk looks massive. It's at the start of this video. This content is protected
