Usyk Wilder set to be announced for July 11th

I don't think he needs to be to outbox Wardley.

 

We'll see. He couldn't outbox Ngannou.

 

I agree with this. Does Fury have the engine and power to keep Wardley off him for 12 rounds? Doubtful based on how he looked in Usyk 2 where he seemed to be short on gas very early in the fight.

Fury will need to stick it on Wardley relatively early to deter him from coming forward all night. High risk approach with Fury being prone to knockdowns.

 

It also seems like he can't fight 3 minutes of each round anymore.

 

He never could, he uses his footwork and feints to slow down the pace. Fury likes to create a lot of dead air and fight when the moment suits him so that he can then take a break. Now that his feet have slowed its become more of an issue, at least so in his last 3 fights.
Personally, I think he did not take Ngannou seriously and that was the reason for his poor performance. And against Usyk he looked good in both fights, but its clear that he has slowed down, which is to be expected.

 

According to the score cards he did which is all he needs.

 

No only has Fury not cleanly beat and important opponent since Dillian Whyte four years ago, but he's looking very old, and the late thirties is the age when fighters who don't stay in shape start finding that they can't get back into shape.

I think he would have been better to stay retired. Good luck to him, but I think we are going to know which way this goes with the tune-up fight.
