I like both Fury and Usyk but its obvious both want to end undefeated, so a matchup against Zhang s probably to big a risk v reward..
Usyk is really trying to take the shortcut to all the heavy titles, not to solidify it against several top 10 opponents, but it doesn't work that way, little all works for the status of greatness. Whatever, Zhang is his mandatory, but just became so. Usyk has two others to face now, not to say three if him and Fury restart negotiations, so the potential bout with Zhang is 2024 the earliest. But what causes a trouble to every fighter is a southpaw and this includes the southpaws themselves. Me being one is something I've experienced and also have been told by other left-handed people. Not saying Zhang will beat Usyk, but can give him a tough fight.
Zhang would collapse from exhaustion after 10 rounds with Usyk. Otherwise it’s Usyk by wide UD despite a few bumps and bruises
Usyk will fight Fury for Undisputed later in the year in Saudi as the rumours suggest. Apart form everything being on the line in that fight it is also the most lucrative fight out there for the pair of them. Both Teams know this and they will hopefully work it out,if this fight does not happen it would be a travesty .
Usyk decision would be my prediction. I picked Zhang over Joyce but Joyce is slow as **** and Usyk is as mobile as it gets for a HW. Zhang would have trouble landing anything significant on Usyk. Southpaw, southpaw might be pretty ugly to watch and also given their respective styles I doubt we see a slugfest.
Southpaw argument works both ways. Usyk fought 350 odd amateur fights - he knows how to fight southpaws. I agree Zhang wouldn't be an easy fight, but once Zhang gasses he will be done. Of course Usyk is trying to shortcut, every fighter tries to shortcut to the title. He is not ducking, he wants to fight the best and get the titles.
Usyk will school the Briton and the Chinese. He wont duck none of these easy mandatories. He's just waiting for a sign from the federations after Fury joked with him make him waste precious time. After very likely he will choose to face Wilder or Ruiz or both to prove hes the best of his generation. He is at his peak but could do maximum 5 defences before retire imo.
Well given Joyce and Usyk both fight exactly the same I can see why Usyk would be a bit nervous about fighting this mandatory..
