I agree, he has no future in the heavyweight division. Wilder knocks him out, Joshua knocks him out, Fury (if he still has it) fools with him for 12 rounds, might knock him out as well.
Joshua would obviously be the favourite he's the best heavyweight in the world. Joshua can't do what Bellew did and use footwork and upper body movement to constantly change range and have Usyk contained and hesitant to throw but he probably won't need to with his height and reach advantages and Joshua's power could make Usyk hesitate. Usyk definitely has a hard task ahead of him if he ever steps in the ring with Joshua, but he's a very smart and skilled fighter and can use movement and his speed to trouble Joshua. Remember what Povetkin did to Joshua, I think Usyk could have similar success. But Joshua always has the equaliser.
I wouldn’t write Usyk off after tonight. His team clearly make brilliant game plans. Tonight reminded me of an FA cup tie where a big team plays a non league side away from home. They let the non league side have the ball for a passages in the game, they even have a chance or two and the crowd gets whipped up.. then as the game progresses the big side ultimately goes through the gears and shows their class. I believe Usyk’s gameplan was to let Bellew have the early rounds to tire him out and make him reckless. He knew he needed a KO tonight with this being his introduction to British boxing and the best way to do that was to break Bellew down gradually.
His muscle’s won’t do **** for him against Usyk except for load up with lactic acid, making him more weaker and vulnerable to a KO.
The problem I have with you is you predict everyone to beat AJ. You thought Hughie Fury FFS would live with AJ. It's hard to take anyone seriously after that.
And he gassed out. If old man Povetkin could bloody Joshua's nose then a fresher more active Usyk can do the same too. Usyk also has the power to hurt Joshua.
We have to disagree on that. No doubt Usyk has the tools to move up and do well and be a great addition to the division.
Do you think he beats Whyte? I think so. I think usyk can come in light as hell and Whyte will never be able to keep up.
I've always said Joshua is simply too powerful for Usyk to handle... no matter how good Usyk's boxing is. But he proved tonight that he has a great chin, good power. I think it is his technique and tactics that bring him success where others have failed: Usyk punches opponents at 40-50 per cent power and speed to land more accurately and to daze the opponent All the while he is gassing them before going for the kill It's actually quite remarkable.
He kept up with Parker who was significantly faster than him, and is as fast or faster than Usyk. I think Whyte knocks Usyk out via KO or TKO
Yes I think his all wrong for Whyte. Whyte will dig in but Whyte for all his improvements is still not a difficult fighter to hit.
I disagree strongly that Parker is as fast as Usyk. Whyte was also completely exhausted. I’d be very surprised if Whyte does as well against Usyk as Bellew did tonight. Of course it depends how heavy these guys come in at a HW bout but I think Usyk plays with Whyte coming in light. Frame and height wise there’s not much difference. Take Whyte down 5% bf and he’d be same size as Usyk.
All those SHWs he fought in the WSB found it so easy catching him and didn't look at all bamboozled by his speed of hand of foot and punch variety which is something he is able to exploit up at HW than CW because the speed of the punches coming back at him are that much slower and he can open up and counter more effectively and land with his shots more often. Yes AJ has a huge size and power advantage and can knock him out but there's no way in hell he possesses the kind of skills, ring IQ, and boxing ability of Bellew. Bellew boxed on the back foot making Usyk force the fight (which is something I suspected but hoped wouldn't happen) waiting to catch him with a counter and that's a difficult style for anyone to deal with. Tyson Fury looked like **** against Cunningham but Wlad could barely lay a glove on him.
