Usyk will want to knock Fury out

And despite that, at the end of the 7th round Chisora was close to being stopped. Usyk since confirmed what many have suspected at the time - he took it easy on Chisora and didn't go for the kill.

Also, Usyk slapped Wlad around so badly when Wlad was preparing for the Fury fight that he was told to leave. Usyk dominated Wlad so bad apparently that it was embarrassing. Also also, there were people who sparred with both Usyk and Fury and said Usyk hits harder.

Bottom line: Usyk is deceptively strong but his movement and phenomenal jab mask the fact that he can pack a punch when he wants to.

Anyone who has ever been to a boxing gym will tell you how making a heavy bag sound like that requires some serious punching power.

Usyk is an eminently moral guy.

But I find the idea that he is "holding back" and not KOing guys out of some kind of sense of mercy preposterous.

Yes he hurt Chisora at the end of that round when he strung a series of shots together

Yeah, Johnny Nelson said he saw Usyk give Wlad fits

    Fabio Wardley said that

To be fair, I think he only sparred like seven rounds with Belly and it was a long time ago, whereas, conversely, he's sparred Usyk many times.

But he did say that when he sparred Belly he was told to go 11 out of 10 and he's a big, strong, fast handed powerful guy so I very much doubt Belly wouldn't have lamped him hard. Be interesting to know how much Belly weighed then too. Either way, for him to say Usyk hit him harder proves that Usyk's power is underrated by many.

I remember that video of Usyk hitting the heavy bag. He really didn't need to bulk up as much as he did for HW albeit age has played a part too. This roughly 210lb version would've been even more effective against these much heavier behemoths. His speed, volume, reflexes and reaction times, and counter punching would've caused them absolute nightmares and he's always had a great chin and it's not like they weren't feeling his power either.

The one thing which concerns me is he was falling short against Dubois at times and Dubois has the same reach as he does not way longer like Belly. That wouldn't have happened a few years ago.

It’s very very feasible that Usyk stops an exhausted Fury late with sheer volume, I can see fury getting peppered with clean shots to the point he can’t defend himself, I think fury’s stamina has gone after abusing his body etc, it’s caught up to him, Usyk throws twice as many punches as him, Fury looked knackered against Ngannou and that was one of the lowest volume fights I’ve seen. I fully expect Usyk to win, and a stoppage would be no surprise at all

Dark Usyk is definitely a thing. It's also one of the things that separates him from Loma, who struggles to come back from adversity (inb4 Linares - I don't care). We saw Dark Usyk against Huck and against Dubois after the foul. Of course it didn't get much traction due to the foul hogging the spotlight. We've also seen Usyk go through gears better than someone like Loma. Unlike Fury who fights down to the level of his competition, Usyk does just enough to win a fight. It's difficult to explain, but there IS a difference. Of course, there's a good chance that regardless of Usyk's skill, this is simply a bridge too far. We'll have to see

    But...

I just don't see it. I was convinced Usyk would try to stop AJ in their rematch. Usyk almost dropped AJ in round 12 of their first fight, Usyk was looking massive in training and lastly he had all of the stuff going on in Ukraine. And what happened? He came in at his usual heavyweight weight and boxed AJ's head off. Sure, he had some trouble in the 9th and came out blistering in the 10th, but generally it was the usual fair

Can I see him targetting Fury's scar left by Wallin? Absolutely. Can I see him possibly dropping Fury when Fury is hit by a shot and is off-balance (at least two of Fury's seven knockdowns were through balance issues)? Maybe

But honestly, I think Usyk will try to outbox Fury. No matter the circus before the fight; no matter the perception of bad judging. Usyk went into both AJ fights and perhaps the Bellew and Chisora fights to a lesser extent, knowing that there was going to be bias scoring. He overcame both of them. Instead of wanting to stop or drop Fury, I think Usyk and his team will be gameplanning Fury's rough inside tactics

If Usyk wins this then it is some serious P4P stuff. Maybe Crawford looks better using the eye-test and maybe Canelo's resume is deeper, but if Usyk can successfully slip through Fury's reach and land jabs, hooks and straight lefts, while somehow countering Fury's one-two-clinch style he's been using since Wilder 2, it will be the stuff of legend. I'm expecting a messy fight, but can you imagine if Usyk dominates Fury effortlessly? It would be beautiful

Usyk and Fury are both mentally indomitable

However Fury can have his arms and legs tore off and he'd still find a way to keep fighting

Usyk will lose the physical war

Although what you say is 100% right, it means 0.00001% of what will happen on the night, but................. Fury's over the top behaviour smelt desperate.
