This is for you @Pat M I do agree with most things you type but when it comes to the heavyweights boxing today are more athletic than heavyweights from the 70's, 80's, 90's, or early 2000's. You are wrong. Let me ask you this and other people who think this. Deontay Wilder is the current heavyweight champion of the world. Do you think he is stronger, more athletic, or a better fighter than Lennox Lewis who turned pro in the 80's? Do you think Anthony Joshua was more skilled, athletic, talented or a better fighter than Wladmir Klitschko who turned pro in the 90's? Joshua is a damn stiff robot.

Human beings reach a pinnacle it comes to athleticism. We don't evolve every 20, 30 years. The modern heavyweight era when it comes to size, athleticism and skill started in the late 60's early 70's and continues to this day. That is why guys like Larry Holmes even past his prime could beat guys like Ray Mercer who in turn beat/ put up a good fight with Lennox Lewis who past his prime beat Vitali Klitschko who was champion until he retired . That is why guys like Evander Holyfiled way past his prime was able to beat guys like Nickolai Valuev who was champion during Wladimir Klitschko's reign. That is why guys like George Foreman was champion in the 90's when both Wladimir and Vitali was still fighting. Shannon Briggs are guy who turned pro in the 90's and couldn't even beat old Foreman has fought guys like Dominque Alexander, Matthew Greer, Siarhei Liakhovich that current "Heavyweight champion" Wilder faced.

You know why? Because the only thing that has changed about the current heavyweight division of the lack of skill and talent. Anthony Joshua lost to butter ball Andy Ruiz for crying out loud. Back in the 70's 80's 90's or during the Klitschko's reign he would of never won a title. Anthony Joshua would of been destroyed by the likes of Mike Tyson , Lennox Lewis, George Foreman, Riddick Bowe, David Tua, Ike Ibeabuchi and countless others. If any boxer from those decades I mentioned were as sloppy and unskilled as Wilder they would of never made it.

Let me add that Usyk was down on the score card to blown up 175 pound past his prime Tony Bellew. That pretty much shows the skill level of Usyk.

This. Usyk is a very good talent, but He needs more fights before I can compare him to Ali and other great fighters from the past.

Ali that Olympic champion and 3 time world champion, was obviously just a part time fighter.

Usyk is quite good but when doing a match up like this you have to go prime for prime so Ali from 66 fighting or to 68 if no lay off. Usyk for the first time would be in with someone of similar size, in fact Ali is the naturally bigger man who would have more foot and hand speed than him. And lateral side to side movement, but more importantly usyks down fall would be his fundamentals because he is a system based trained fighter, which for a fighter with a great boxing I q like Ali had ,would make him easy to figure out and train against, now in Ali usyk couldn’t find any body of Ali size and dimensions who is an instinctive mover with as fast reflexes who fights in the moment of what the other fighter is doing making it harder for him to work Ali out. In other words Ali’s unorthdox style is the key. We also know Ali has a great chin and heart and will to win also against larger , heavier and harder hitting opponents than usyk as faced so far in his career that’s why I feel it would be a 60-40 win senario for Ali at this stage because of usyks less experience and quality of opponents, but I do agree he would be a harder fight than some of these large slow heavies around today.
