Povetkin battered , destroyed and stopped slick southpaw Chris Byrd. The same Byrd who Usyk'd power house HW David Tua.
This one sided battering proves he'd not only be competitive with Usyk , but would likely hand him a stoppage loss.
    Tua >> Gassiev

Yeah, a 37 year old, half dead Chris Byrd, who was violently stopped by Shaun George in his next outing, its not like Povetkin got some prime slick, fast and elusive as Usyk version of Byrd here, he got an at times stationary walking corpse.

I thought Byrd was shot when he fought Povetkin? Isn't that what you said before? So why should that performance matter now against PRIME version of Usyk, who is far more skilled than Byrd anyway?

Are we forgetting their respective performances against common opponent Marco Huck?

I realized i was wrong about everything i believed. You convinced me that McBride has a legitimate win over Mike Tyson and Povektin has legitimate win over Byrd.
Or was Mike shot againt Willians , Bride and thise wins don't mean anything just like Povetkins win doesn't count against Byrd?

If Mike Tyson was 'shot' against Kevin McBride, then Alexander Povetkin is currently just as 'shot'.

So at this point at the very least, if not at other points, Povetkin has no chance against either of the aforementioned two boxers.

No , because prime isn't a number. Vitali was more prime at 40 than Mike Tyson at 35.

Povetkin now is more prime than Tyson was against Lewis , Williams and Bride. Mike Tyson wasn't even ranked with he lost to Willans and McBride. Povetkin is top 3 in the world and never truly lost a fight since Klitschko should have been DQ'd against him

Yes, prime is a number. The age when athletes decline, remains the same. Which is why we almost never see any Olympic gold medalist after age 35 in athletic sports. Which is why we almost never see any sprinters being the fastest in the world, that are older than age 35. Which is why we almost never see any long distance / marathon runners, being the best after age 35.

Vitali was not more 'prime' at age 40. He was just as much out of his prime as Mike Tyson was. Difference is, Vitali is simply the superior heavyweight. Ergo, past prime Vitali > past prime Mike Tyson.

Have you considered the possibility that Povetkin might just be a superior boxer to Mike Tyson as to the reason why he is still a top 10 fighter at age 38, whilst Mike Tyson wasn't at the same age? Rather than making excuses for Mike Tyson being 'past prime' whilst simultaneously being hypocritical and claiming Povetkin at the same age is somehow in his prime?

If you believe Povetkin is currently in his prime, then I have every reason to also believe that Mike Tyson was also in his prime against Kevin McBride. Just to be objective! We can't have different rules for different boxers.

Disagree. Even an old Povetkin is significantly better than Gassiev.

Square faced Povetkin would have destroyed Usyk, and round-faced Povetkin would probably win by decision.

Square-faced Povetkin (which he will be against Joshua) was one of the top 20 HVYTS of all time in his prime. It's going to be a hellofafight next week.

Tyson was a Coke, alchohol and party monster practically every day of life past 23. Povetkin trains.

Master chefs the world over want to use the Domiante pear in their fruit salads and desserts. But the only known trees grow in the backyards of grumpy Italian pensioners with slingshots. Rumour has it they have ALSO engaged the fearsome Blizzy Blizz to protect their precious Domiante pears, on top of it. Those ***** *** mf *** ass ********ers will never taste the sweetness of the Domiante pear!

Who's fault is that? Why should I have sympathy for him?
