Then Chris Byrd was also prime in the Povetkin fight if you believe that , therefor Povetkin beating Byrd proves he could handle Usyk since Byrd has beat real HWs while Usyk has beaten none.
    Povetkin>Byrd>Usyk.

If his chin holds up I can see him winning but Povetkin has far more power than anyone Usyk has faced..

But you give AJ credit for his win against Wlad, right?

Yeah Usyk would win the majority of the rounds against Povetkin

But he's also win every round against Wilder, Joshua, Pulev, Ortiz, Parker, Whyte

and at least 7-8 rounds against Tyson Fury, who is his only threat :)

You do realize the only small HWs who have ever dominated in the division have been hard hitters, like Povetkin (Tyson, Rocky, Frazier), and not light hitting, movement based boxers, right? Evan is the closest thing to that, and he came up second to the two best SHWs he fought

Yeah, they should just hand Usyk the belts now, AJ et al have no chance anyway, not worth even having the fight.

Someone's gonna have a rude awakening in a couple years.

He would but Povetkin is still a great p4p fighter.

But Usyk is an exception. There's never been a heavyweight who had the combined skills, athleticism and awkwardness that Usyk presents for the heavyweight division.

Or how about Oleksandr Usyk > Marco Huck > Alexander Povetkin.

Since Usyk shut out Huck lopsidedly and stopped him. Whilst Povetkin ARGUABLY lost against the same Huck.

So based on a better logic than the one you used (since Byrd and Usyk never faced each other):

Usyk > Huck > Povetkin or Usyk > Huck = Povetkin

Dominate? Probably not, even old, PED free Povetkin is dangerous. Maybe Usyk can win by out boxing Povetkin at his age speed and reflexes start to go and Usyk is fast and slick.

I'd rather see Usyk fight Ortiz, think his movement, work rate would pose real problems for Ortiz. He has a much better chance of out boxing and schooling Ortiz than Povetkin due to styles. I think it would look a lot like the Gassiev fight with Ortiz hitting air and constantly out of position.

Because fighters are so successful moving from Cruiser to Heavy. And facing a legit power puncher with more credentials than anyone in the division (yes, I know he's old now)... I'll ride with Povetkin here until I see something from both fighters to make me feel different.

This. Ortiz's poor stamina could work against him with Usyk, but Usyk's inside game is very limited, since even Michael Hunter, was countering Usyk and Hunter is a novice compared to either Ortiz and Povetkin. Not to mention a Hunter was inactive.

Hunter was landing uppercuts and was attacking Usyk's body, but his technique was poor, which is why he failed to hurt Usyk. If Povetkin gets inside on Usyk and starts landing clean on Usyk's body Usyk would most
likely get stopped. Also, knocking Ortiz he would neutralize a lot of Usyk's mobility and jab, which nobody at cruiserweight was skilled enough to do.

Ortiz and Povetkin are twice as skilled as Gassiev and Briedis.
