Perhaps the Dubois bout was a positive for Usyk. Firstly as perhaps Usyk making a meal of the illegal body blow, might have as Mugen38 states, enticed Fury into their undisputed title bout. Secondly it could have been a wakeup call for Usyk, to find strategies to cope with bodyshots, IF he indeed has definite issues with taking body shots, only he really knows the answer to that one.
legal blow. didn't see any overreacting, outside of what seemed a tap on his hip. and he was looking at aj, not the ref. its entirely possible that usyk is vulnerable to the body, compared to the rest of the hw crop. he is a bit smaller. but he is still capable of taking their shots and beating them. fury isnt bringing a heavier glove than hes already tasted. can he get caught with a shot in the right place to fold him? sure, but so can fury.
Or just improve his body conditioning, as this is actually a thing, unlike conditioning your chin, which is just a given. You can train your neck, but just that. With body, there is a million of ways to condition it. Also body punches even in fights help with that. With headshots, every single hard one takes something from you permanently. Though i don't think Usyk mil the shot. Dubois smashed the cup. There is a video with no commendatores, and you can hear the shot and the sound of the cup, when the shot land. May post it a bit later, as i have it on my other PC.
Okay here is the link with no commendatory and a clear sound from the punch. You can hear the sound from Usyk cup when the punch landed. https://www.acfun.cn/v/ac42190396 The timestamp is 32:35.
So does Floyd have a glass chin because a PED free Shane had him out on his feet with a couple of clean shots, shots Margarito took 5000 of from a walking PED factory version of Shane? Because Chop Chop hurt him badly? Because Manny hurt him? Because Maidana hurt him? Because Zab dropped him?
Actually was a trademark of his earlier in his career. His left hook to the body is actually his best punch by far, he cocks and leverages himself into it...which he doesn't really do for any of his other punches.
I love that you are thinking of me after "blocking" me so many times. Still, you talk about me without reading what I've posted. Cute, but I'm married. Casual user, yes. I read and laugh on these forums far more than I actually post. So that is true. I am here most days though, but still, I accept "casual user" (I've been called this in other areas of life too, lol). I take the fact you think that I think I am smart as a compliment, It was never my intention as I do not think that of myself in reality, but It's nice to know that's your impression, as it reaffirms my efforts (I'm not smart though, just attentive). Fairly and equally, my own opinion of you, is that although I think you are misguided by your emotions, you are consistent and determined. Passion is important in life, but clearly it can lead to misjudgment. I have no malice towards you. Now show me where I was ever exposed LordDuck lol. Again, as you always do with me (I'm blushing now), you've seen me and jumped the gun before reading and evaluating properly. Here, lets summarise my made point in the thread, and we can work together if needed, so that it does not go over your head. I never once said in any conversation today that those shots were not low. But if you think Usyk is iron solid even just 1mm above such a subjective line, you sir are a moron. And that there, is my point - That line, belt line/shot legality line, which we all know varies from fan to fan, ref to ref (shouldnt, but does). Is not a defined barrier of pain. That is ridiculous. I hope finally this one gets through, but I doubt it. Maybe block me again? Or just pretend as normal, I dont really care dude, I think not of you.
That's quite an emotional response to my pointing out the simple fact that you lied with your statement. You could have worded it 'Usyk complained several times about body punches', and that could have been a decent start for a discussion. I think those who warned me about your being an unreasonable Fury fan were right.
Thanks Wiz, I missed that one. One more for the list. It looks to me like Usyks reaction at this point is a defence mechanism, an almost automatic response he has built up with all his experience. He knows as well as we do whats up. It hurts him. Trouble is, how does he fight a monster like Fury without leaving the body in line of sight!
Like othes said : even IF the dubois hit was low it was low only very marginally and in no case an event . But Usyk folded up like a pocket knife and cried for minutes on the canvas. He is either a very big cheater / actor or exceptionally vulnerable to body shots - or both . I hope for a good performance against fury to rebuild usyk,s reputation but i also hope for a referee who does not agree to nipple high shorts ( that is true for fury also ! ) and call any shot on the protector a low blow then .
Bakole says a lot of things. Apparently, he hasn't heard about the age-old saying, 'what happens in sparring stays in sparring'. According to his claims, he stopped pretty much half of the top active HWs in sparring. I think he made himself quite a few enemies with that tendency to be mouthy about sparring sessions. But sparring is not an actual fight anyway. It is used like the free practices used in Formula 1, testing strategies, fine-tuning things. Even if Bakole stopped Usyk with a body punch in sparring, we don't know any context. We don't know how it happened; we haven't seen any footage of it. We don't know what the arrangement was for sparring, whether there were specific things Usyk was trying out, and Bakole just felt like knocking him down by catching him off-guard. The point is, using Bakole’s claims as a reference for Usyk’s alleged weakness to body punches is quite futile.
