I also believe what Fury thought. That Usyk looked bad on purpose vs Chisora to lure AJ into giving him that fight.
lol at people putting Bellew and Chisora high on the list. Just lol. You all don't recognise just how in control Usyk is of his fights. You all don't seem to understand that Usyk was not fighting near his best because he didn't have to. Bellew didn't trouble Usyk, usyk was fully in control. Usyk immediately started in 3rd gear vs Joshua, he started in 1st gear vs Chisora and Bellew. He made himself an easier target to hit to wear out his opponents out and KO them late/destroy in the later rounds.
CHAMPION Oleksandr Usyk named Tony Bellew as his ‘toughest’ fight https://talksport.com/sport/boxing/1018443/oleksandr-usyk-tony-bellew-fight-ko/
Does this matter? No. Ali's hardest fight in the 60s was Henry Cooper by far, do you think Henry Cooper would have beaten Sonny Liston?
Usyk didn't have to go out of 1st gear to be Bellew He was quite clearly fighting on another level vs Joshua.
I have literally never seen a Joshua fan as deluded as you are about him. He completely schooled Joshua and took rest rounds during the fight, which were also the only rounds Joshua won.
Briedis was definitely Usyk's hardest and closest fight. If Usyk hadn't got the decision there wouldn't have been any real controversy. Chisora, Joshua and Hunter are all debatable for 2-4. Clear Usyk wins but they pushed him, even if he came close to securing a 12th round stoppage against the latter two. No one else really registers. Bellew's performance was grossly overrated; Usyk was always in control, took little damage, made him work too hard for limited success and sparked him in 8. Gassiev had one moment but otherwise got completely schooled.
Usyk knows what he is doing, he took fights that he knew would be tough stylistically because he believed in himself. He knew they would prepare him better for the big fights later on. Chisora was probably his worst possible stylistic match-up at heavyweight but he took it. Not only did it sharpen his mettle for the division but it lulled the big names into a false sense of security.
Breidis Chisora Bellew Joshua Hard to split Joshua and Gassiev tbh as Usyk was in front from start to finish.
