Going back in time I realized that Usyk fights in the HWs have all been on the rise. But very likely all the fights, including the one against Joshua, were only aimed at outboxing those fighters with very specific orders not to knock out anyone except in case of extreme danger or difficulty. Usyk and his team were highly skilled in not revealing his real potential in the HWs even with Joshua and to me they made a real masterpiece of boxing strategy and communication. I read several statements from Usyk and his team about this in the newspapers after the title win and so I linked the fight against Joshua to those against Witherspoon and Chisora in which many turned up their noses saying that Usyk was too small and not very powerful to beat Joshua. Fortunately all of them were wrong. Instead, I recently read some statements from the Ukrainians on the target of the rematch. Run over Joshua and destroy him with a frightening and memorable KO in 5 or maximum 7 rounds.

And I think it will go just like that. Usyk hasn't fully disclosed the cards in the past but will certainly do so in the rematch.

    Thoughts?

I keep reading this by other posters and wonder how people can be so stupid. Like a HW boxer fighting for multiple titles would prolong a fight intentionally and risk a points decision when he could finish the fight earlier, especially when fighting as the away fighter.

A masterclass fighter like Usyk can afford to push or less during a fight hes winning. Theres nothing strange.

Why force a knockout at all costs when you can win comfortably without major risks and moreover improving your skills in the HWs?

Usyk just needed two good sparrings for 12 rounds and he found them: Witherspoon and Chisora.. before a title fight that it has exactly gone in the way he and his team wanted.

This post is a bit different from the the first. Usyk probably fights in the style you mention. Fight at a measured pace, not forcing anything, knowing he can outlast these fat boys. If the ko comes great, if not, take it to a 1 sided boxing lesson. But to say he can knock these guys out but chooses not to is not realistic.

I mean specifically the AJ fight. People saying he could have knocked him out but chose not to.

Yes, maybe he wanted to KO Joshua but he chose different. They are called team orders, man... like Formula One pilots.

Where is the idiocy? If you want I can post you the articles of the newspapers where it's said that Usyks strategy agreed with his team was to outbox Joshua and not to KO him at all costs.

& Fury is also hiding his true power level for when he needs it...against Usyk

Papachenko is with Usyk right now. So AJ is doomed.

I think he will certainly try to stop AJ which is fine because AJ likewise will be trying to stop him. I think Usyk will come in bigger than usual as well.

Why force it? Because you probably need it to win

A Usyk-Joshua trilogy fight is probably the biggest HW fight that can be arranged in the short-term because Fury is dragging his ass coming back and Wilder's comeback doesn't appear to be capturing the imagination of the boxing public Therefore the incentives to rob Usyk for force that third fight are defintely there. Also, any HW fighter (even Usyk) can be clipped and stopped.

He's going to use the Gasseiv 80 punches a round strategy. Joshua is doomed.
