Uzcategui tested positive for a banned substance.. I really wanted to see this fight, could've have been a great slugfest. PBC is looking for a new opponent, seems like Benavidez will still fight at the same date
Another one bites the dust, but this fight held very little intrigue as Uzcategui like Benavidez's prior opponents is just a tough plodder . It was good for entertainment but made little sense in the grand scheme of things.

What a bummer. I was looking forward to this one as well. With it being a week out, it's going to be tough to find a decent replacement.
Kyrone Davis was just announced as the replacement. He is a much better fighter than what I thought we would get on one week notice. He is still going to lose but he does have some skill and has never been stopped. I thought he should have got the decision against Dirrell.
This sucks, I was looking forward to this fight although Uz has somewhat of a sloppy punch technique and Benavidez would've probably just chopped him down. I hope he wasn't juiced for Plant who still boxed his ears off regardless.
